Unleash the Full Potential of CDs, DVDs, LDs, and SACDs with Auric Illuminator Disc Treatment Technology
You haven't experienced the full potential of CDs, DVDs, or Laserdiscs until you've tried the Auric Illuminator by Audience. Originally developed as an optical resolution enhancement tool for the U.S. mililtary, the Auric Illuminator improves the audible and visible playback quality of all optical discs.
"It is 'jaw dropping' effective," raves Jim Dowd in the January 2000 issue of The Stereo Times online. "It improved all aspects of soundstaging with every CD I treated and 'illuminated' every instrument in a smooth and focused manner. It removes most of the clouding and smear from older recorded CDs, and brings added life, snap, and focus to newer CD recordings."
Improves Disc Tracking
Auric Illuminator will help your disc player retrieve all the available data on a CD, DVD, LD or SACD by allowing the laser pickup to track the disc more accurately. The easy, two-step treatment process reduces ambient light and infrared light in the disc material. The result is improved signal-to-noise ratio of the reflected signal for more accurate timing of retrieved data.
"The benefits of the Illuminator on LDs and DVDs is simply extraordinary, easily as good as upgrading to a better model player," an Illuminator user reports on audioasylum.com.
Easy, Two-Step Application
Treating CDs, DVDs, LDs and SACDs is an easy, two-step process. First, use the Auric Illuminator infrared absorbing pen to blacken the inside and outside edges of the CD (the outside rim and the inside of the center hole). Then apply Auric Illuminator gel. This unique product improves the optics by allowing laser light to enter and leave the disc with less reflection or scattering. The laser pickup "sees" a stronger, more sharply defined signal, resulting in fewer data retrieval errors.
Prevents Static Electricity Build-up
The Auric Illuminator also lowers the surface electrical charge of a disc, which typically builds up a static charge while spinning against the air. The charge-and-discharge cycle can contribute to tilt and wobble, making a disc more difficult to track. This causes the pickup servo motors to work harder at maintaining focus, leading to power supply fluctuations that can degrade system performance. The Auric Illuminator prevents excessive static electricity from accumulating on a disc, allowing more natural reproduction of music and enhancing accurate picture quality.
"If you only have $39.95 to spend but what a kick in the pants that offers images and sound as significant as a DVD-player upgrade, Audience's Auric Illuminator should be one of the first things you think about," writes Doug Blackburn in the March 2000 online issue of SoundStage. "If you already have a top-flight DVD player and other goodies, the Auric Illuminator will make them even better. The bottom line: I'm applying the Auric Illuminator system to all my favorite and reference CDs and DVDs "
One Auric Illuminator pack will treat 200 to 400 CD, DVD, LD or SACD discs. Disc treatment is semi-permanent, remaining unless a disc is cleaned with water plus surfactant or isopropyl alcohol.
Not for use on hybrid-SACDs
