Convenience Without Compromise
The challenge for Bryston was to design an integrated audio amplifier with none of the compromises usually associated with this approach. The Canadian company's design team has surpassed the challenge.
Stereophile's Sam Tellig calls the Bryston "as good as any $2000 solid- state line stage I've heard. No electronic glare. No murky sound. No muddy bass. Clean, quick transients. Superb clarity."
"The amplifier easily outperforms rivals in its price range, matches the calibre of equipment in the $3,000.00 range and outright destroys a lot of the imports currently available," observes The Inner Ear Report. "With the Bryston B-60 we feel that people out there in audio land are, as the old saying goes, getting a good bang for their buck."
The B-60 SST integrated amplifier provides 60 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 100 watts per channel at 4 ohms. There are provisions for four high level inputs, (CD, Tuner, Video and Aux) in addition to one tape loop and a pre-out/main-in feature. A headphone jack is provided for those requiring monitoring and private listening provisions.
"Bryston's amplifiers sound so clean-and deliver their power so effortlessly-that people listening to Bryston amplifiers actually listen at higher levels than they would to any other similarly-powered amplifier, just because they can," reports the August / September 2002 issue of Australia's Hi-F magazine.Preamp Out, Main In
A versatile feature on the Bryston B-60 SST is the pre-out/main-in connectors. This allows the independent use of the preamplifier or stereo amplifier section within an audio or video system, giving you lots of flexibility, plus a potential upgrade path.
In addition to all of the great performance that comes packed inside your Bryston, you can also enhance your B-60 with options from the manufacturer. As your needs grow, you can add on an internal DAC, internal MM phono stage, and treat yourself to a handheld remote volume control. All of these options make the B-60 SST an amp that's a pleasure to live with and will suit your needs over the years.Built by Hand
Bryston hand assembles and individually tests each and every product that the company manufactures. Bryston exclusively use only the finest components in its amplifier designs, such as 1% metal-film resistors, polystyrene capacitors and hand selected and matched transistors to reduce noise and distortion to the absolute minimum.
Bryston applies techniques and employs custom materials in our everyday construction of electronic equipment that are more typically utilized in military and aerospace industries. Our traditional adherence to proprietary parts and sophisticated construction and testing techniques guarantees your amplifier will perform for many years without concern. It also prevents any unit-to-unit variability which inevitably is the result of any mass produced product.Surpasses Source Material Demands
With today’s increased clarity and dynamic range in recordings and movie soundtracks, you need equipment that not only equals but surpasses the parameters of the most demanding material available. The Bryston B-60 SST integrated amplifier is without peer in meeting this performance challenge.

In this price range, there are essentially no competitors that offer the accuracy, reliability, and compactness of this unit. Some claim the Bryston sound to be too crisp/harsh/emotionless - this is due to the accurate performance of it. I personally like the sound of the Bryston since it is doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing: accurately amplifying the signal. If you like a warmer/smoother sound, this amplifier probably isnt for you but it all depends on the speakers you pair it with. Go listen to one... Throughout the entire audible range, this unit never runs out of jam. Dont let the 60W rating fool you - this amp produces full sound in large rooms with only moderately efficient 87dB speakers to nearly deafening levels. For your money, there is no better integrated. The warranty is no joke; these are built to last.
