Coax Maximum Performance from Your HiFiMAN Headphones
This enhanced headphone cable from Cardas was originally built for George's daughter when she was a professional disc jockey. Because she put such great demands on her beloved pair of Sennheiser HD-600 headphones, she kept wearing out the stock cables. George built his own version to help her out. The replacement cables worked such wonders upgrading the performance of Sennhesier headphones that George decided to offer them to the general public.
And now this great cable is available with connectors that fit other manufacturers' headphones. This version has a Cardas stereo 1/4" male plug on one end and HiFiMAN-compatible connectors on the other end.
The upgrade cable is pure Cardas all the way. Its advanced conductor is pure copper litz in a patented Golden Ratio, Constant Q, and Cross-Field configuration for best performance.
In addition to the dramatically better sounding conductor, George says his eutectic brass 1/4-inch phono jack with rhodium-over-silver plating makes the biggest sonic different by reducing channel-to-channel crosstalk. As a result, the conductive path is essentially a thin, silver 'tube.' According to George, similar conductors are made of nickel-plated brass (sometimes with a gold flash) and do not constitute a low-resistance, low-inductance path. "This is particularly problematic in 1/4-inch connectors, because both channels share a common ground path in the connector," says George.
