Touchy but fantastic!

I own an Audio Note DAC Kits 1.1 upgraded with the Crystal CS8414 receiver chip that accepts the 24bit/96 kHz digital signal via coax input and an Analog Devices 1865N DAC chip that truncates 24bit digital incoming signal to 18 bit. This digital set up runs through all Audio Note DACs and is a very non-digital sounding DAC, but this early model doesnt accept a USB input signal on its own. Enter this NuForce U192S USB to S/PDIF coax converter to the rescue. After several attempts to mate it to the AN DAC via my laptop with NuForce website downloaded drivers and all failures due to some incompatibility issues, I switched computers and also enlisted the help of NuForce tech support, and was finally able to connect with the AN DAC utilizing a specific driver set-up technique. This is a most fortunate accomplishment for me as there is a wonderful symmetry with digital audio and Audio Note DACs...and now with USB input via the NuForce converter in situ, I am enjoying...nay, I am floored by how fantastic computer digital audio CAN sound.
