More Channels, More Power, and More Versatility
Parasound has expanded its popular Z-series line of half-rack-width components with the Zamp Quattro, a four-channel/two-zone power amplifier. The Zamp Quattro expands Parasound's "Zamp" amplifier concept with more channels, more power, and more versatility. It's perfect for custom installations and lots of other applications.
The Quattro is the same size as the Zamp v.3 but packs in a potent multi-channel power delivery. It offers 50 watts RMS x 4 at 8 ohms, all channels driven, and 90 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms, all channels driven.
Superior Swedish 'Class D' Design
The Zamp Quattro retains the rugged Parasound build quality and use of premium parts throughout, as well as versatile turn-on, signal routing, and hookup options. Unlike most 'Class D' amplifiers that are based on inexpensive car audio chips, the Zamp Quattro with its Swedish 'Class D' design uses only high-grade parts. With additional output filtering, the result is a great sounding amp that produces very little heat, is stable with low impedance loads, and is protected from short-circuited speaker wires. The input stage is 'Class AB.'
In addition to Quattro's RCA line input jacks, it includes speaker-level inputs for compatibility with receivers lacking pre-amp outputs. Channel 3 and Channel 4 can be connected with RCA jacks or to a bus from Zone 1. Level controls are rear-mounted for set-and-forget convenience. Automatic turn on options include a 12-volt trigger and an ultra-sensitive audio trigger. Speaker outputs are 10-amp terminal blocks for convenience when connecting speaker wires.
A Favorite with Custom Installers
"Parasound Zamps have been spec'd by custom installers for nearly 20 years for their high quality sound and compact size," said Richard Schram, the president and founder of Parasound. "We expect installers will find creative uses for the Zamp Quattro. For example, four Zamp Quattroa provides 16 channels of Parasound quality amplification in two rack spaces."
The Parasound Zamp Quattro is available in a black half-rack width rack-mount capability. Optional accessories are a matching blank panel to rack mount a single set, a panel coupler to rack mount any two Z-Custom models and the half-rack width Zrack to mount up to five Z-Custom components.

When I got back into hi-fi in the last few years, I decide to only do micro-components due to space limitations. Now I own just about every Z-component ever made. I love my Z-Amps, but my Z-Amp Quattro is the everyday go to amp because it packs such a big wallop in a small package. I dont worry about heat issues with this little giant either. I have a full system in a little Z-Rack behind the end table within arms reach of my recliner.
