New DC Version with Carbon Tonearm, Built-in Phono Stage, USB Output, and Cartridge
Pro-Ject's Debut Carbon DC USB turntable has it all, including a carbon fiber tonearm, factory installed Ortofon MM phono cartridge, and even a built-in phono preamplifier with a USB output. And it gets even better. The brand new Debut Carbon DC USB model uses an ultra-quiet DC motor for very smooth performance.
The first Debut turntable from Pro-Ject introduced in the late 1990s was a groundbreaking component in the hi-fi industry. For the first time after the arrival of the compact disc and the widely reported demise of vinyl records as a popular playback medium, an analog product re-emerged in the mass market and introduced a whole new generation of listeners to the turntable. Best of all, the original Debut was a product that all music lovers could afford.
The Debut Carbon DC USB has been designed to set new standards the affordable turntable category for the coming decade. Its debut is perfectly timed as analog today is again a respected source, while the demand for affordable, good sounding turntables steadily continues to increase.
"Remarkable, To Say the Least"
"That the Debut Carbon can approach the RP6's performance at 20 percent of its price is remarkable, to say the least," marvels Brent Butterworth in Sound+Vision magazine for September 20, 2012. "If I were buying a budget table tomorrow, this is the one."
"The Debut is a turntable that provides ‘pace and rhythm’ and is hugely talented when it comes to demanding engagement," notes MusicEmotion magazine from the Netherlands for June 2012. "Its vitality is expressed through each and every track."
"It is impressive how much sound quality you will get," concludes Bernhard Rietschel in Germany's AudioTest magazine for September 18, 2012.
Built-in Preamp and USB Output
Playback doesn't get any more convenient than this. The Debut Carbon DC USB comes with a built-in phono preamplifier, allowing you to connect this turntable directly to the line level input of your power amplifier.
But that's not all. It also has a USB output. Use the turntable with your PC or Mac plus free software that you'll find on the Web (like Audacity) for converting your albums to MP3 and other digital formats. For added flexibility, you can use the connection to the line level input of your hi-fi system and the USB input to your PC/Mac simultaneously!
Carbon Tube Tonearm
The most obvious improvement over the original model of the Debut is the inclusion of a high-tech carbon tube for the tonearm, which increases stiffness, decreases unwanted resonance, and eliminates coloration. This material normally is extensively used in high-end tonearms, but due to its high cost was never used in products at lower price levels. But it's here with the very affordable Debut Carbon DC USB with an advanced 8.6" carbon tonearm.
The Carbon Debut DC USB also includes other improvements over the original Debut turntable. These enhancements include an increase in platter size and weight to realize even smoother rotation. A new design in motor suspension using vibration absorbing sorbothane contributes to the greatly improved overall sound quality.
Includes an Ortofon Cartridge
The Debut Carbon not only includes a factory installed carbon tonearm, but it also comes with an Ortofon OM 5E moving magnet phono cartridge that's installed and ready to go. And because the Debut Carbon is easy to set up and operate, you'll be enjoying the pleasures of vinyl within minutes of opening the box!
