The twin symmetrical conductors use a special low loss dielectric, while an oval braided shield surrounds and protects the low-level signal from electromagnetic interference (EMI). The specially designed "custom oval" Mini-DIN optimizes the performance of the cable by mating to the cable to provide a true 360-degree shield. Solder-less connections spare the dielectric from potential heat damage and also eliminate poor connections caused by cold colder joints.
