"Best CD System £400–£800" Award for 2010 - What Hi-fi? Magazine
"Blows Us Away"
Arcam's Solo music system has wowed customers and reviewers the world over. The Solo provides the perfect solution for customers who crave high quality reproduction but reject the traditional pile-of-boxes approach to hi-fi and home theater excellence. With the Solo Mini, Arcam has maintained the audiophile standards that it has adhered to for thirty years, delivering engaging sound from a single stylish and easy-to-use unit.
The single-cabinet Solo Mini houses a CD player, AM/FM tuner, and superb integrated amplifier. In addition, a front panel USB input allows the playback of USB devices with MP3 and WMA files.
"We Can't Recommend It More Highly"
England's What Hi-fi? magazine honored the Solo Mini with its "Best CD System £400–£800" Award for 2010. The magazine praised the system's "high-quality build" and "smooth yet detailed sound."
"Arcam's new Solo Mini one-box hi-fi system blows us away," raves TechRadar.com. "We have no hesitation in declaring the Arcam Solo Mini as one of the nicest and most exciting hi-fi products we've come across in a very long time. We can't recommend it more highly."
Sound Without Equal at the Price
Using sophisticated circuitry taken from higher priced Arcam components, the sound quality available from the Solo Mini system is without equal at the price. An oversized torroidal power transformer with independently regulated power supplies ensures that even demanding bass lines are delivered without compromise to other instruments or voices. Using the 24-bit DACs and low-jitter crystal clock from Arcam's award winning CD73 CD player, the Solo Mini processes digital sources with extremely high precision, allowing fine detail to be reproduced with breathtaking clarity.
The Solo Mini uses the same high current power amplifiers as the full size Solo music system, ensuring a truly dynamic experience even at louder volume levels. It delivers a great-sounding 25-watts RMS into 8 ohms (continuous power output). A passive fanless cooling system facilitates airflow without adding noise to the mix.
Robust Preamplifier Section
Arcam didn't hold back on the robust preamplifier section of the Solo Mini. It gives you plenty of connections, offering five line-level inputs plus a 'record' output. It also includes a preamplifier output for external power amps. The front-panel mini jack input allows the quick, no-hassle hook-up of MP3 players or games consoles. There's also a mini-jack headphone output for private listening. Full bass and treble controls let you tailor the sound to fit room acoustics or to match your tastes. You'll also find an iPod/iPhone interface plus a front-panel USB input. |
