"This is Your Magic Speaker"
The Peachtree Audio Design 5 system is a larger version of the company's bestselling Design 4. It's engineered for larger spaces and higher sound pressure levels. So crank up the volume and enjoy! The Design 5 will reach down to 50 Hz, which is a very low level of bass reproduction for a loudspeaker this size. The overall result when blended with the silk dome tweeter is nothing short of breathtaking.
"Bass hounds on a budget take note - this in all likelihood is your magic speaker," notes John Potis in his July 2006 review for 6moons.com. "The D5 sounds fuller and more robust and much more satisfying than any speaker I know of at low volumes, making it a fantastic choice for apartment dwellers or anybody who must restrict volume levels."
"In this modest room, tucked away at the end of a corridor, we got our first taste of the most impressive speaker setup of the show," marvels Jason Bovberg in his Connected Home Media review for July 25, 2007. "To our absolute amazement, it was also the cheapest speaker at the show. It was the Design 5."
The Design 5 system works well for stereo reproduction. But even though Peachtree Audio's engineers voiced the D5 for music, it's more than dynamic enough for an exciting home theater experience. This is a speaker you'll be proud to own no matter what you listen to.
The two-way Design 5 has a 5" long excursion bass driver and a 1" soft dome tweeter. Long throw, vented voice coil drivers and cast baskets contribute to the powerful sound.
Designing the Design Series
If you're in the market for a small, elegant speaker system that must blend with your décor as well as sound great, Peachtree Audio speakers maybe perfect for you. The Design 4 and Design 5 were created as high-end lifestyle speakers that blend with Peachtree Audio integrated amplifiers or any high quality system. Prior to 2011, the speaker brand name was Era Acoustics, but Era has not been 'rolled' into Peachtree Audio.
Peachtree Audio's goal with the D4 and D5 was to build audiophile grade speakers that extend low enough for a subwoofer to be optional. Custom drivers were required to meet the demanding specifications and Michael Kelly of Aerial Acoustics did the honors. After almost a year in development, the drivers were finally ready to be fitted in their new cabinets and be voiced by Peachtree owners Jim Spainhour and David Solomon.
Craftsmanship, Care, and Attention
Each cabinet is constructed from 3/4" to 1" MDF and heavily braced. The cabinets are cut with the finest European CNC machines, so joints are measured by the micron and each joint is absolutely perfect. A great deal of craftsmanship, care, and attention to detail goes into every speaker. This is a product that you'll be proud to own. Each speaker is built to last a lifetime.
Finishes include real wood book-matched Rosewood, Cherry and Piano Gloss Black. The exotic veneers are sanded, smoothed and hand polished, giving the cabinet the finest finish you're likely to see on speakers at any price. The finishes match the Peachtree Audio amplifiers for added cosmetic appeal. |
