Upgrade the Performance of Your RP1
Enhance the performance of your Rega RP1 turntable with the Rega Performance Pack. It includes the Rega Bias 2 moving magnet phono cartridge, an upgrade drive belt, and the high-performance turntable mat usually supplied with the more expensive P3, P5, and P7 turntables. Also included in this money-saving package is a handy and easy-to-use cartridge alignment protractor.
"For the audiophile who has yet to take the vinyl plunge… the Rega RP-1 is an easy, enthusiastic recommendation," observes Art Dudley in the May 2011 issue of Stereophile magazine. "And for all prospective owners, the RP-1 Performance Pack is a no-brainer - but wait a while before buying it, if only so you can luxuriate in the fun of hearing such small things make such a big difference. Warmly recommended."
Upgrade Drive Belt
You'll enjoy the benefits of the upgraded drive belt in this package. The 'increased drive' results in greater speed stability and accuracy. This is especially noticeable during extended musical notes and greatly adds to the musical enjoyment of the turntable.
Bias 2 MM Phono Cartridge
The Bias 2 is a hand-assembled MM moving magnet phono cartridge that uses a high quality elliptical stylus and parallel wound coils that are usually found in cartridges costing many times the price. Housed in Rega's lightweight, high rigidity cartridge body, the Bias 2 offers a detailed, balance performance with tight bass and excellent stereo imaging.
For plug-and-play convenience, the Bias 2 cartridge comes with a 14mm o-ring spacer for the tracking weight shaft of the RP2's tonearm. Using the spacer automatically sets the tracking weight to the recommended range and negates the need for any long setup process or the use of a tracking pressure gauge.
Turntable Mat
The Performance Pack comes with a high quality turntable mat manufactured from 100 percent natural wool. Because wool has stiffer fibers than synthetic manmade materials, the wool mat directly improves coupling between the RP2's phenolic resin platter and the vinyl LP. |
