The Highly Musical Sonata in the Upgraded Statement Series
The Sonata phono cartridge in Grado's new Statement2 series uses a modified four piece OTL cantilever technology achieving a 10% tip mass reduction over the Prestige series and ultra-high purity long crystal (UHPLC) oxygen free copper wire in the coils. It features Grado's specially designed nude elliptical diamond.
Series 2 Upgrades
Grado's new Series2 provides a step up from the previous series, but the price stays the same. Series 2 uses a newly redesigned wood chassis with increased and optimized distribution for improved audio stability and imaging. Newly engineered coils and new proprietary magnets improve signal transfer of low level information, which enhances the realism of your music.
All cartridges in the Statement 2 series offer a low mass generating system and a diamond cut specially for Grado. All this is hand-assembled within a machined, Australian Jarrah wood housing. The output for the Statement Series2 cartridges measures at 0.5 mV. They use a 1/2" mount.
Statement Series2 wooden cartridges use a fixed coil design and are handcrafted at Grado Labs in Brooklyn. An intricate procedure of curing is done between production steps to achieve optimal sonic quality. This series generator/stylus module is not replaceable, allowing a one-piece magnetic circuit and a reduction of chassis resonances.
Fantastic Accuracy and Precision
The Statement Series2 utilizes manufacturing and assembly techniques of fantastic accuracy and precision, and the result is virtual perfection. This is a cartridge series that merits use with only the finest equipment. Recommended tracking force is 3/4 grams to 2 grams.
The low frequency information and its portrayal of bass dynamics are solid, powerful and authoritative. The midrange is rich, complex and highly believable. Its top-end seems to extend forever with speed and remarkable delicacy. Imaging is detailed and precise with a soundstage that wraps its arms around you and draws you into the music.
