PSB Imagine X2T Floorstanding SpeakerThe slim, floorstanding PSB Imagine X2T borrows many design innovations from PSB's multiple award-winning Imagine T2, yet it costs only one-third as much as the T2! Much of the cost savings comes from a simplified cabinet design, but other advancements have allowed PSB to bring a new level of performance to this price range. Fast and Articulate Extended Bass ResponseEach 6.5" woofer has its own separate acoustic chamber with a front-facing port to achieve incredible control and spatial, dynamic sound quality. Dividing and individually porting the chamber eliminates standing waves inside the X2T's tall, slim speaker cabinet. The placement of the woofers in multiple positions also reduces the first reflection phenomenon, minimizing the negative effects of the primary 'floor bounce' reflections, resulting in a much more accurate and tuneful bass performance. The result is low distortion bass response that that speaks with powerful authority. Separate Midrange ChamberThe Imagine X2T is a true three-way speaker utilizing a separate midrange driver in its own tuned enclosure for ideal dispersion and low distortion at high SPLs. The all-new driver is designed specifically for the Imagine X2T. Featuring an injection-molded, poly-filled carbon fiber cone, the 5-1/4" midrange driver boasts a novel shape and filleted surround to optimize the reproduction of voices. The narrow cabinet design contributes by preventing diffraction effects that can create early acoustic reflections that color the sounds of voices and instruments. Pure Titanium Tweeter DomeThe 1" dome tweeter combines a high stiffness-to-mass ratio for ultra-fast transients and extended response without break-up until way beyond audibility. The high-temperature voice coil with ferrofluid cooling allows for high SPLs without compression, and the rare-earth neodymium motor magnet gives high sensitivity and accurate response at the lower end of its response range. A carefully engineered phase plug (the little plate in front of the dome) extends high frequency response and helps control the inevitable high frequency break-up mode while protecting the delicate dome from prying fingers. The Imagine X SeriesTrue-to-nature sound is the design goal of all PSB speakers, and the Imagine X Series brings a new level of realism to these affordable new speakers. Imagine X applies the latest speaker materials and technology to PSB’s most popular speaker models. PSB’s designers focused on simplicity – distilling sound to its purest essence – in order to bring listeners the experience that they really love. Acoustic Research Makes the DifferenceThrough many years of research at the National Research Council Canada (NRC), home to one of the world’s most advanced acoustical laboratories, the design team at PSB Speakers has learned not only what people love to hear, but also how they hear it in a room. Critical to the Imagine X design is this research into human perception of sound using double-blind listening tests. Double-blind testing removes any listener bias to provide the most accurate test results. It allows PSB to understand what is most important to listeners and allows the company to create the ideal blend of performance and price for every application. "PSB was the first company to use the NRC for loudspeaker development in 1974, and we remain the most active user of the facility today," notes Paul Barton, PSB Founder and Chief Designer. "Our experience with the NRC – how we interpret the data and implement it into the design of our Imagine X speakers – sets us apart from other speaker manufacturers. It has allowed us to focus on our primary goal, which is delivering real sound for real people." According to Barton, "By conducting carefully controlled blind speaker tests, then measuring all the speakers to see what sonic characteristics appealed to the listeners in the tests, we were able to figure out what matters and what doesn't." Unmistakable True-to-Nature SoundThere are four models in the PSB X Series, but only one objective: to reproduce the most accurate sound available for the money. Imagine X models are all carefully matched in timbre, giving you flexibility to combine any of the models to work together in many different rooms and system setups. PSB Imagine XB Bookshelf SpeakerFull-frequency response and compact size makes the PSB Imagine XB bookshelf speaker a stellar choice for surround sound duties. The PSB Imagine XB is an attractively compact two-way speaker system featuring an advanced 5-1/4" woofer and a 1" titanium tweeter. The Imagine XB shares the injection-molded, clay/ceramic-filled polypropylene designs of the Imagine X towers, and includes dual magnets and rubber surrounds. The critically tuned cabinet employs a rear-facing port for high sensitivity and extended bass response. The Imagine XB is ideal for smaller rooms or in concert with a powered subwoofer for a compact full range system. The perfect timbre match with the PSB X1T and X2T towers also make the XB a great choice for surround channels in home theater installations. PSB Imagine XC Center Channel SpeakerThe PSB Imagine XC center channel speaker is a two-way system in a dual-woofer horizontal format with a pair of 5-1/4" woofers and 1" titanium tweeter. PSB engineered the Imagine XC to maximize performance in multichannel systems. Its clean lines and slim cabinet design will suit today’s ultra flat TVs. It matches the timbre of the other Imagine X models for ultimate flexibility when setting up a home theater system. The Imagine XC shares the injection-molded, clay/ceramic-filled polypropylene designs of the Imagine X towers and XB bookshelf speakers. It includes dual magnets and rubber surrounds. The critically tuned cabinet employs a rear-facing port for high sensitivity and extended bass response. PSB SubSeries 125 Powered SubwooferThe SubSeries 125 is the smallest of a new generation of high-performance powered subwoofers from PSB Speakers. Building on the popular SubSeries 300, SubSeries 125 brings a new level of performance and value to the subwoofer category. Quality Driver and Potent AmpThe SubSeries 125 has increased power over its predecessor, the SubSeries 1, producing a generous 125 watts of continuous power, 160 watts of dynamic power and 320 watts of peak dynamic power in a compact package only 9-5/8" wide, 14-1/8" high, 15-5/8" deep, and weighing 24 pounds. The SubSeries 125 employs an 8" woofer with polypropylene cone and an oversized rubber surround that permits very long cone excursion. The slotted port design yields high output with very low port noise and bass extension is only 3dB down at 35Hz, with useful low frequency output down to 31Hz. Lower, Louder, More Natural BassWith increased power and reduced energy consumption, the SubSeries 125 will deliver lower, louder, and more musically natural bass. And despite its compact and unobtrusive appearance, the SubSeries 125 provides the kind of high-impact performance associated with many bigger and more expensive subwoofers. Coaxing this high level of performance from such a compact subwoofer is an engineering feat. However, 40 years of experience along with a deep working knowledge of acoustics gives PSB Speakers a clear advantage. Like all PSB Speakers, final voicing is performed by Paul Barton at Canada's famed National Research Council. PSB's research has revealed how listener preferences can be integrated into a wide range of speaker designs for many different applications, yet all featuring consistent sound quality that is natural and lifelike. "The goal for any subwoofer is to produce clean, deep bass throughout the room and with as little room interaction as possible," explains Paul Barton, Founder and Chief Designer of PSB Speakers. "The engineering challenge is to achieve this in a small footprint enclosure at an affordable price. PSB has perfected the tools required to get the optimal result for every loudspeaker application and I believe this new compact SubSeries 125 sets a new standard in affordable subwoofers." About PSB SubwoofersAll speakers play an important role in your home theatre system but the performance of your subwoofer can greatly affect the overall performance of your system. Think of a subwoofer as a vital component to your system, adding excitement to your music or theater experience and understanding that not all subwoofers are created equal. PSB engineers place a particular emphasis on the overall musicality of PSB subwoofers. Distinct attention is given to their ability to seamlessly match PSB's high quality speakers under the most demanding music and film score passages. Equally important is the subwoofer's ability to sustain powerful lower frequencies for extended periods of time.
