Pangea Audio Premier Octet® AC Power Strip with Pangea Premier AC Power ReceptacleDon’t limit the performance of your hi-fi, home theater, or streaming components by plugging them into a cheap ‘hardware store’ power strip. Designed for larger audio and video systems, Pangea Audio Premier Octet AC Power Distribution Strips were designed by Jay Victor for superior performance. Capacity for Larger AV SystemsEight premium audio-grade 20A/15A [NEMA 5-20] AC outlets provide plenty of capacity for large AV systems. Octet’s sealed, all-metal cabinet housing offers maximum radio frequency [RFI] and electromagnetic [EMI] noise suppression. The pure power path with zero current-limiting electronic components in the conductor path uses hand-soldered connections and premium OFC copper for maximum signal transfer. The high-grade 20 amp IEC power cable input uses an included heavy-duty 5-ft. detachable AC power cord and has a power on/off LED. The AC power outlets with advanced polymer insulation bodies use extra-thick contacts made of copper-plated phosphor bronze. They firmly grip male AC prongs without letting go. Order Octet, and for a limited time we will include a white Pangea Audio Premier AC Power Receptacle. The Shortest, Straightest Possible Path"The shortest path between any two points is always a straight line," observed Jay Victor, quoting a very old saying. "I designed the Pangea Audio AC Power Distribution Strips with the straightest possible path between the power in the wall and the audio or video components. There are zero current-limiting circuits or electronic components of any kind inside." From the metal case works, power outlets, internal conductor wires – and even the solder used – Pangea Audio AC Power Distribution Strips are premium no-compromise designs. Jay also designed the premium AC power outlets featured in these power strips. Crazy, "Overkill" Outlet Insulators, Too"Another problem with standard AC wall receptacles is that they use a cheap nylon as an insulator in the outlets," Jay explains. "From my years developing components for x-ray equipment, I knew of an advanced polymer which has a much lower dielectric constant, making it a far better insulator. It also has a much higher voltage standoff. In fact, I've used it in X-Ray cable connectors that had to handle 250,000 volts." "Sure, 250,000-volt standoff capability may sound like overkill," Jay admits. "But I knew audiophiles would demand nothing but the best when it comes to supplying power to their sensitive audio gear. That's what I decided to use in the Pangea Audio AC Power Distribution Strips, from the entry level Premier model to the Premier SE and the top-of-the-line Premier XL." Versatile 15-Amp/20-Amp Outlet DesignThe IEC power input is a special high-grade 20-amp design. Use it with the (supplied) heavy-duty five-foot power cord or upgrade to the no-compromise power cable of your choice. Pangea Audio also makes some fine affordable 20-amp IEC power cables, too. Includes Pangea AC Wall OutletPangea Premier AC Power Outlet Receptacle is an affordable audiophile-grade duplex AC wall outlet that's a worthy addition to your other electronic gear. Premier delivers the best possible performance from all your AV components. You've invested in high-quality hi-fi and home theater gear. Your networking gear is top-notch, and you invested in upgrade AC power cables. So why limit the performance of your system by plugging your components into cheap, 'hardware store' duplex wall outlets? It's easy and affordable to replace a cheap wall outlet with a high-quality Pangea Premier AC power outlet. Say Goodbye to Poor Design and Cheap Parts"The trouble with the most common outlets in most homes is poor design and cheap parts," explains Pangea Audio Design Engineer, Jay Victor. "They are made from a cheap plastic that's a poor insulator and from thin, low-grade metals. Hold one of these outlets in your hand. They're flimsy. I designed the new Pangea Audio outlets from the ground up [pun intended!] to be superior in every way to standard outlets to make sure you get the best performance possible from your sensitive electronics." An 'Overkill' Outlet Insulator"Another problem with standard AC wall receptacles is that they use a cheap nylon as an insulator in the outlets," Jay explains. "But audiophiles would demand nothing but the best when it comes to supplying power to their sensitive audio gear. So that's what I decided to use." Firmly Gripping High-grade Copper ContactsAnother pet peeve that Jay has with standard AC outlets is that "almost all manufacturers use cheap thin brass for their AC contacts. Only a select few of those are even nickel plated to prevent corrosion in wet environments. This isn't really an improvement. I believe that nickel plating is detrimental to performance." "For our entry-level Premier AC receptacle I used extra-thick contacts made of copper-plated phosphor bronze. They firmly grip male AC plug prongs without letting go," said Jay. "It's a 20-amp outlet design – overkill, again, in some cases, I admit – but the outlet works perfectly with either 15-amp or 20-amp AC plugs. So Premier provides that extra versatility, too." Receptacle Mounting Bracket"Speaking of pet peeves," Jay continued. "Take a look at the flimsy mounting bracket most outlets feature to bolt the outlet to the wall box. I couldn't bear to have any of my outlets insecure, so I included a very thick metal mounting bracket instead. Nothing's going to shake this outlet loose from the wall," Jay told us, "except maybe an earthquake." Pangea Audio Premier Octet AC Distribution Strip
