A Significant Increase in Power and Performance
The Sumiko S.9 represents a significant increase in performance over Sumiko's smaller S.0 and S.5 powered subwoofers. It features a front firing 10" passive radiator with a down-firing 10" active unit, along with a high current 350W Class A/B amp. The combination of a larger cabinet, a huge driven cone area, and 350 watts of power provides excellent bass extension at a competitive price.
The S.9's rear panel features a complete connectivity solution that allows for both perfectly blended musical sub-bass and powerful, percussive, home theater bass. A wide sound-field reproduction is the result whenever you add this superb performer to your multi-channel system.
Highly Advanced Design
The amplifier design uses a high current 350W Class A/B linear power amplifier. The input filter is a highly advanced design specifically developed for this application, and is responsible for the slam and attack of the S.5.
The separate volume controls for high level and .1 connections allow optimum levels to be established for music and home theater, so there is no need to turn it up for movies, and then turn it down for music. While the high level connection allows seamless blend of the sub with the main speakers for either music or the bass effects from the main-channels in a film, the .1 input can be used simultaneously, providing full realization of home theater soundtracks.
Drivers are a major part of Sumiko's subwoofer performance. They are engineered with great care in order to produce truly low bass from relatively small units and to be able to withstand high power demands for long periods of time. Sumiko S.9 uses a quality stamped steel-frame for both the down firing 10" Ultra Long Throw speaker unit and for the forward-firing 10" aluminum alloy diaphragm passive infrabass radiatior.
