The Affordable Solution for MM and MC Cartridges
Don’t spend more than you need to on a great sounding phono stage when you can get great performance at an affordable price from the Cambridge Audio 651P. It extends the functionality of Cambridge Audio's critically acclaimed Azur stereo integrated amplifiers and AV receivers. But it will bring out the best in any quality integrated amp or receiver while making your vinyl recordings really come alive.
Best of all, the 651 P doesn't limit you to either MM moving magnet or MC moving coil phono cartridges. It works well with both. Multi-parallel capacitors achieve exceptional RIAA accuracy of only 0.3 dB up to 50 kHz. A defeatable subsonic filter eliminates very low frequency ‘rumble’, caused by vinyl imperfections.
WIMA Capacitors
A new chassis distinguishes the 651P from Cambridge Audio's critically acclaimed 640P moving magnet phono stage. Inside, the 651P distinguishes itself by employing WIMA capacitors that are well known among audiophiles for their superior sound quality.
Listening to familiar tracks will instantly reveal voices with a greater sense of clarity with more subtleties. Highs are as detailed as they were before, but with a lightness of touch and elegance reminiscent of far more expensive phono stages.
Discrete Transistor Design
The 651 P features single-ended 'Class A' gain stages and discrete transistors for the all-important input stages instead of the more common integrated circuits. This gives less crosstalk and interference across the signal path. The 651 P employs an audiophile passive RIAA equalization system for best sound quality.
Acoustically damped full metal chassis with thick brushed aluminum front panel contributes to the performance and visual appeal. An external power supply comes standard. |
