Bring Turntables, TVs, and Digital Sources Into BluOS

The Bluesound HUB turns conventional wired audio components into network-accessible sources for a Bluesound or BluOS multi-room system. Connect a turntable, CD player, television, tuner, or another source to the HUB, select that input in the BluOS Controller app, and send the audio to compatible players elsewhere in the home. The source can remain where it is convenient while the listening zones are placed where you want them.

Five input choices cover both legacy and current equipment: HDMI eARC with CEC, coaxial digital, TOSLINK optical, stereo RCA line level, and a dedicated moving-magnet phono input. The built-in low-noise MM phono stage means a compatible turntable can connect directly without a separate phono preamplifier. Native sampling rates up to 192 kHz and 16- to 24-bit operation support high-resolution network playback.

Two Streams at Once

Each HUB can transmit one analog source and one digital source simultaneously to different BluOS players. Up to four HUB units can operate on one network, providing as many as eight simultaneous source streams. This makes the HUB useful beyond a single turntable: a household can make several traditional sources available without physically wiring each source to every room.

The HUB does not contain a power amplifier or speaker output. It is a network source adapter and requires compatible Bluesound or BluOS playback devices.

How (and Where) Does It Connect to Your System?

Place the HUB near the source equipment and connect the input that matches the source:

• Turntable: connect stereo RCA cables to Phono MM and attach the turntable ground wire to the ground terminal. Use the line input instead if the turntable already has an active phono preamp.
• CD player or digital transport: use coaxial digital or TOSLINK optical, or use stereo analog if preferred.
• Television: connect the TV's ARC/eARC HDMI port to the HUB's HDMI eARC input.
• Analog source: connect its line-level RCA output to the HUB's stereo analog input.

Connect the HUB to the home network through dual-band Wi-Fi 5 or its Gigabit Ethernet port, then attach the supplied USB-C power adapter. Initial setup and input routing are completed in the BluOS Controller app for iOS, Android, Windows, or macOS. Four-way keyhole mounting slots allow horizontal or vertical placement with thoughtful cable management.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the HUB drive passive speakers?

No. It sends audio over the BluOS network. Playback requires a compatible powered Bluesound speaker, streaming amplifier, or another BluOS player connected to an audio system.

Can I connect a turntable directly?

Yes, when it uses a compatible moving-magnet cartridge and does not already apply line-level phono amplification. Connect the RCA leads and ground wire to the HUB's phono connections.

Can it play two sources simultaneously?

Yes—one analog and one digital source can be transmitted simultaneously to different BluOS players.

How many sources can remain connected?

The five input options allow several components to stay attached, although simultaneous streaming is limited to one analog and one digital source per HUB.

Does it require Ethernet?

No. It supports dual-band Wi-Fi, though wired Gigabit Ethernet can be useful where maximum network stability is desired.

Does the USB-A port accept music drives?

No. Bluesound identifies the USB-A connection for firmware upgrades. It is not a general USB audio or storage input.
