All the Streaming, None of the DAC
Serious digital systems follow a simple rule. Let each box do one job well. The T8 is that rule applied to streaming. It has the network playback, the storage and the screen of EverSolo's streamers. The converter is yours to choose. Every dollar here goes into feeding it a clean signal.
Timing is the whole game in a transport. Accusilicon clocks, accurate to the femtosecond, handle the signal. Power comes from a custom toroidal transformer, wound with 4N oxygen-free copper. The outputs cover every serious DAC connection. USB and I²S over HDMI reach 32-bit and 768kHz PCM, and DSD512. AES/EBU, coaxial and optical are all there too.
EverSolo's signature 6-inch color touchscreen fronts the unit. It shows album art, VU meters and controls. The interface is the one that made the DMP series famous. It also keeps the phone in your pocket.
A Music Server, Too
Two internal SSD bays take up to 16TB between them. The whole library can live inside. The T8's own software serves it, or your network does. Streaming covers Tidal, Qobuz, HighResAudio and Amazon Music, and it is Roon Ready as well.
Even the network connections are overbuilt. There is gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, and an SFP fiber-optic port. Fiber is a data-center connection, and it cuts the T8 off from network noise. Dual USB 3.0 ports handle external drives.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Ed Selley of AVForums scored the T8 9 out of 10 with a Highly Recommended award in a November 13, 2025 review, calling it "an absolutely peerless streaming front end" that is "operationally bulletproof" and "a pleasure to use."
Eric Teh of StereoNET gave it 8.5 out of 10 with an Applause Award in a January 22, 2026 review, finding it "highly impressive from the outset, with a natural and detailed rendition of music," with the I²S output adding "imaging precision, resolution and dynamics."
Who Is This Transport Best For?
- You already own a DAC you love — the T8 feeds it a reference-grade signal instead of duplicating what you have.
- You want I²S or AES/EBU connections — outputs most streamers skip, prized for connecting serious DACs.
- You have a large music file library — dual SSD bays hold up to 16TB internally.
- You want the best interface in streaming — EverSolo's 6" touchscreen and software lead the category.
- You may change converters later — I²S, AES/EBU and coaxial outputs mean the T8 still matches whatever DAC replaces your current one. See our digital-to-analog converters.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Connect the T8 to your DAC using USB or I²S for full-resolution playback, or AES/EBU, coaxial, or optical for other DACs. Join your network over Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, or SFP fiber, install SSDs in the internal bays if you have a file library, and control everything from the touchscreen or the EverSolo app.
There are no analog outputs by design; the T8 is purely digital, built to partner with the DAC of your choice.
Pairs Well With
Building your digital front end? Here are some great companions for the T8:
- DAC: The essential partner, ideally one with an I²S input — see our Digital-to-Analog Converters.
- Integrated Amplifier: Downstream of your DAC — see our Integrated Amplifiers.
- Cables: Quality HDMI (for I²S), USB, or AES cables matter here — see our Interconnect Cables.
- Audio Rack: Give your digital stack a proper home — see our Audio Racks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the T8 have a built-in DAC?
By design, it's a pure digital transport meant to feed an external DAC. There are no analog outputs.
What outputs does it have?
USB and I²S (HDMI) up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, plus AES/EBU, coaxial, and optical up to 24-bit/192kHz.
What streaming services does it support?
Tidal, Qobuz, HighResAudio, and Amazon Music through EverSolo's interface, plus Roon Ready certification and DLNA.
Can it store my music library?
Yes. Two internal SSD bays accept up to 16TB combined (drives sold separately), plus dual USB 3.0 ports for external drives.
What is the SFP port for?
Fiber-optic networking. It electrically isolates the T8 from network noise, a feature borrowed from professional data equipment.
Why buy a transport instead of a streamer with a DAC?
If you already own a quality DAC, a dedicated transport puts the entire budget into streaming, storage, and clean digital output instead of duplicating conversion.
