A Dock That Adds "Markedly Improved Depth And Emotional Involvement"
Arcam's drDock pushes the performance boundaries of iPod docking. It offers greater connectivity, wider compatibility, and better sound through a direct digital connection to the docked device.
"All the ingredients are there and we are pleased to report they come together impressively," reports
Gordon Kelly in his TrustedReviews.com review for April 24, 2012. "Most impressive is the boost to the midrange and bass which bring markedly improved depth and with it a keenly felt layer of emotional involvement.
Dock Your iPad, Too!
Thanks to an ingenious new physical format, the drDock is able to accommodate iPads as well as iPods and iPhones allowing an even wider range of aps and services to benefit from Arcam's legendary sound quality. The built-in DAC is first rate. It's a Texas Instruments Burr-Brown PCM5102 32-bit/192 kHz-capable chipset.
The drDock's talents aren't just limited to audio. An HDMI video output allows you to play back your favorite films and TV program directly to your TV. The drDock also comes with its own IR wireless remote, but it can also be controlled by the Arcam Solo neo and Solo mini music systems plus many Arcam AV amps via their remotes, too.
Easy to Use – Cables Are Included
The drDock has a discreet cast aluminum case and comes with a full complement of connection cables and accessories. That means it's ready to play your favorite music in minutes. The drDock's USB connection also allows both syncing and charging of your device* while connected to a PC or Mac.
Connections include an HDMI out, coaxial digital out, USB (for charging and syncing), and an analog stereo output.
*Note: Charging not available with an iPad / PC combination, but available with all others. |
