Improving on a "Recommended Component" Integrated
The Music Hall a25.2 integrated amp has been a Stereophile magazine "Recommended Component" and a customer favorite. Never one to rest on past accomplishments, Roy Hall decided to take the next step forward with the a35.2 integrated amp, featuring 85 watts-per-channel power delivery.
Music Hall's a35.2 is a big, powerful sounding integrated amplifier built to fit neatly into the modern household. Geared primarily toward the music lover with a two channel audio system, Music Hall has included a direct AV input (home theater bypass), for those that want to use the amplifier section of the a35.2 to power the front channels in a home theater set-up.
Constructed using the finest parts and hand assembled, the a35.2 is sure to impress. It's the heart around which a great sounding system can be built and is the perfect complement to Music Hall's cd35.2 CD player.
Ultra Wide-Band Frequency Response
The a35.2 has the look, sound, and feel of "old fashioned hi-fi, the way it used to be," says Roy. However, the a25.2 is state-of-the-art all the way. Amplitude is regulated with a digitally-controlled analog audio volume control PGA 2311 IC from Texas Instruments that's known for its accuracy, reliability, and extremely quiet operation.
Speaking of quiet, the high-quality oversized toroidal transformer is the heart of a silent-running power supply that contributes to the 'no distortion' specs. In fact, the THD plus noise of this talented integrated is a vanishingly low. And it delivers ultra wide-band frequency response.
Exceptionally Quiet Preamp Section
The exceptionally quiet, specially designed preamplifier section has plenty of connections for your audio gear. It includes four analog, line-level inputs along with a tape loop. A preamplifier output connection gives you the added capability of using the a35.2 as a dedicated preamplifier should you decide to embark upon an upgrade path later on down the road.
A Serious Piece of Audio Gear
Don't be fooled by the low price of the a35.2. This is a serious piece of audio gear from start to finish, inside and out. Doing justice to the sophisticated internal circuitry is a heavy, rigid chassis with a thick, brushed aluminum faceplate and special vibration damping feet. Its look complements flagship Music Hall audio products.
Other features include a gorgeous slim-line system remote control, headphone output, easily readable and dimmable front-panel fluorescent display, and a detachable IEC power cord. |
