First In-wall Optimized for Surround Applications
An in-wall speaker doesn't have to mean compromise. Not when it's a PSB and the performance is indistinguishable from a floorstanding speaker. Although other manufacturers make in-wall speakers intended to function as surrounds, few of them are specifically designed to excel in this application.
"Promises and Delivers a Lot"
"The CW260 from PSB is an in-wall surround loudspeaker that promises and delivers a lot," reports Softpedia.com. "Movie soundtracks or high-def music on DVD-Audio or SACD discs all sound great!"
Two Switchable Radiation Patterns
The PSB CW260 is a high-performance in-wall surround speaker and is the first design of its type. It is beautifully optimized for surround sound use, thanks to its two switchable radiation patterns. These dual patterns give the CW260 a more diffuse soundfield than conventional systems for superior surround sound performance.
Cross-firing Wide-Range Drivers
The CW260 has two wide range 2" driver units cross firing at 90 degrees to each other (one at 45-degrees left, and the other at 45-degrees right). The drive units are mounted on a contoured mounting plate. These contours are essential in obtaining a smooth response from the high frequency drive units and to allow their energy to appropriately fire away from the listening position.
The 6.5" fiberglass textured polypropylene woofer achieves low bass down to an impressive 50 Hz, bringing full-range response that puts the excitement into movie soundtracks and special effects. |
