Latest Preamp Design from Mike Creek
Creek’s OBH-22 compact passive preamplifier updates the popular OBH-12. The included wireless remote provides armchair control of input selection and volume adjustment. And, of course, you can also control the Creek directly from the front panel.
"Sleep" Command Maintains Signal Purity
The OBH-22 Remote Control Preamp gives you the convenience of listening-chair control of your music without compromising the performance of your hi-fi system. Within the OBH-22, a built-in micro-controller processes the signal only when you give it a command using the remote control. This means that during normal listening, the controller is in "sleep" mode in order to remove any risk of interfering with the signal passing to your amplifier.
The OBH-22 is a line stage preamp with the characteristic natural and musical sound on which Creek Audio has built its name. The wireless remote controls volume, input selection, tape monitoring, and muting. LEDs on the OBH-22's front panel let you keep track of what's going on - indicating which input you've selected, when a command is being given, whether or not the controller is in "sleep" mode, and activation of the mute mode. A separate LED indicates tape monitoring. There are two stereo output pairs, one fixed and one variable.
Because it is a passive preamp, the volume control can be operated manually at any time, whether the OBH-22 is powered or not, but without power, only Line 1 can be utilized. |
