"Profoundly Quiet" Compact Phono Stage
The compact and versatile Clearaudio Basic Plus phono preamplifier accommodates both MM and MC cartridges and boasts enough gain to drive the lowest output cartridges. It is a very simple unit to operate with a single button switching between MM and MC functionality. Another nice feature is the dedicated power transformer, which resides outside the actual phono stage to keep the audio circuit as quiet as possible.

The Absolute Sound magazine honored the Basic Plus with a "Product of the Year" award for 2010.
"Profoundly quiet… It was the Basic Plus' low-level resolution that pretty much cinched it for me," notes Neil Gader in his October 2010 review for The Absolute Sound magazine. "It’s a phonostage that will easily challenge the performance of far more expensive phonostages, whether battery- or AC-powered."
The layout of the circuitry is optimized for maximum channel separation, complementing Clearaudio phono cartridges. All of the company's phono preamplifiers use Clearaudio non-magnetic MPC RCA jacks.
