To develop the best playing characteristics, a cartridge needs a break-in period. The length of the break-in depends on the specific cartridge construction and on the type of material used for break-in, though it usually takes between 40 and 100 hours, when using a music signal.
The break-in period can be shortened significantly by using Clearaudio's Cartridge Break-in LP with its 'endless' pink noise track (1/f noise). From now on, the tedious extended break-in of your cartridges will be a thing of the past. |
