New Upgrade of a Superb Performer
A few years ago, Grado Labs introduced their new handcrafted Reference RS1 headphones to critical acclaim. "I just love (the RS1) headphones," raved Stereophile's Jack English.
Grado's Reference RS2 is another superb performer. Like the RS1, the RS2 is handmade at Grado Labs using specially cured mahogany, and features similar drivers and wiring. The RS2's midrange is warm and harmonically accurate with full-bodied vocals, excellent dynamics, and an ultra-smooth treble.
And the new RS2i version of this classic has been upgraded for better performance.
Upgraded Cable and More
What does the letter 'i' stand for in the new RS2i from Grado? Improved, that's what!
The RS2i is the little brother of the RS1i. The RS2i has an upgraded driver and the new eight-conductor cable design. The characteristics of the RS2i remain the same as its distinguished big brother, with the new species of handcrafted mahogany, but with a smaller wooden air chamber.
Although a miniature version of the RS1i, the RS2i still maintains an overall sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic color, full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and ultra smooth top end. These truly are an audiophile's dream.
The Grado RS2i weighs a mere 9 ounces, so they're exceptionally light on the ear. The flexible hand-stitched leather headband is super comfortable and easy to adjust for any ears. |
