The HE-500 orthodynamic headphone uses a special driver treatment for improved midrange and to make the '500 easy to drive. HiFiMan's Fang Bian told 6moons.com, "The HE-500 is better than the HE-5LE in almost every way. While the HE-500 lacks the HE-6's ultra clarity, its sonic signature over a regular headphone amplifier is pretty close to that of the HE-6 over a high-end amp."
