Huge Features and Tiny Price Tag
Leave it to Marantz to bring you a seven-channel, full-featured home theater receiver that you can easily afford without needing to raid your 'rainy day' bank balance. And the NR1501 isn't any kind of stripped model. Not only does it boast the superior sound quality that you expect from Marantz, but it's packed to the gills with features that complement the latest HD video sources. It even includes MRAC auto speaker calibration. The only thing that's missing is the high price.
The NR1501 brings you all the circuit sophistication, feature richness, and quality performance that Marantz is famous for. Each of the seven discrete built-in amplifiers produces 50 watts RMS for room-filling sound. It's an unbeatable all-in-one solution for setting up an extremely capable and completely up-to-date home theater system without having to buy a lot of additional components. You just need your source component, such as a DVD player, your speaker system, and you're up and ready!
HDMI V1.3 Connections
OK, so you know about the benefits of HDMI. That's the high definition audio / video (or "multimedia") interface that lets you connect a DVD player, for example, to a processor or receiver with just one cable. And then use just one more cable to get all that information to your TV screen. Think you'd like that convenience? And how about switching so you can select one or the other HDMI-equipped source without the hassle of changing multiple cables? The NR1501 has it. This receiver is right up to date with HDMI V1.3 switching, featuring 4 inputs and 1 output. It also offers component video upconversion to HDMI, so you can enjoy superb picture quality from almost any source.
Built-in 'Acoustic Engineer' for Perfect Set-Up
The most time-consuming step in setting up a home theater system is trying to get the speaker levels right. If your settings are wrong, you won't get the kind of seamless surround experience that movie theaters provide.
The Marantz NR1501 doesn't make you use trial and error techniques to get the speaker levels right. It features an advanced calibration technology from Audyssey Laboratories that automatically maximizes room acoustics for multiple listeners. Every listener in the room gets a "sweet spot" with sophisticated circuitry that takes into account the size and acoustics of your room.
Audyssey uses an internal signal generator/analyzer along with a proprietary automatic equalization algorithm to bring you the best audible performance in any room. Using the included high quality microphone, MRAC calibrates optimum surround sound settings based on the test signal, including parameters for speaker level, phase, size and frequency response. The entire procedure is fast and almost completely automatic, and the results sound as if you had hired an acoustical engineer to do the set up for you.
TrueHD and DTS-HD Decoding
With the NR1501, you'll enjoy the latest high bit-rate, 'high def' surround sound formats used in Blu-Ray discs: Dolby TrueHD and dts HD Master Audio. And for getting the most out of DVD surround sound formats, the advanced audio processor also decodes legacy Dolby Digital and dts audio.
Other features include Marantz Remote D-Bus in/out jacks for multi-room systems, a detachable power cord, plus the convenience of an easy-to-use On Screen Display for set-up and operation. A 'precode' remote control with glow keys adds to the user friendliness. |
