Fully Stabilized Clock System
The M1 CDT has a fully stabilized clock system, which helps to ensure ultra low jitter. It will read a wide range of CDs: CDDA, CD-R, and CD-R/W discs. It also provides CD text for those discs which include that data. Digital outputs consist of AES/EBU balanced digital, coaxial, and optical.

Choke-Regulated Power Supply
The M1 CDT’s sophisticated power supply has seven separate sections and twin choke filtration to ensure ultra-low noise and highly accurate data retrieval. The choke filtration effectively acts as an AC line conditioner, which increases the performance and value of the M1 CDT to even greater heights.
The choke regulation technology is derived from Musical Fidelity's massive Titan power amp and is used throughout the M6 and M3 product lines. As far as we know, the use of a choke filter is unique in a CD transport. It filters out unwanted noise from the mains and allows the M1 CDT to work properly, regardless of AC power line irregularities. It makes a huge difference in the sound quality.
Typical choke designs can end up causing as many difficulties as they solve, because they create a magnetic field that has deleterious effects on the musical signal. But the bifilar choke regulation system used by Musical Fidelity cancels out the magnetic fields that other styles of chokes generate. The circuit takes advantage of a tried and true design. Musical Fidelity has been using this technology since 1987.
