MartinLogan's Motion 30 center channel speaker offers superior performance with dialog, music, and effects. It is designed to match the elegant aesthetic of the Motion-series floorstanding speakers and is voice-matched with the entire Motion Series to allow listeners to build a two-channel or home theater system piece-by-piece. These new speakers feature rounded edges, a gently tapered top, and luscious high-gloss finishes.
Key to Motion 30's superb sound is its Folded Motion tweeter for extremely accurate high frequency response. For bass and midbass frequencies, the Motion 30 uses two 5.5" aluminum cone woofers with a non-resonant asymmetrical chamber format and cast polymer basket. A rigid structured dust cap reduces cone break-up. The rear-firing bass port adds extra punch in the low frequencies.

Folded Motion™ Tweeter
MartinLogan's exclusive and highly innovative Folded Motion™ Tweeter helps gives Motion speakers their fantastically realistic highs. Lightning fast transient response, combined with a large surface area (eight-times that of a typical 1" dome tweeter) creates clear, highly dynamic, and precise sound.
The Folded Motion™ Tweeter works by moving air (which creates sound) perpendicular to the folded ridges of the diaphragm, similar to how an accordion works. This extremely low mass diaphragm "squeezes" air and requires almost 90 percent less excursion than the typical 1" dome tweeter, which drastically minimizes distortion while providing a lighting fast response time. The increased surface area also provides a wide, yet controlled sound dispersion to create a realistic and carefully etched sound stage.
Vojtko™ Crossover
Contributing to the superb performance is the legendary Vojtko™ crossover. It is carefully hand-built using only the finest polyester film and low DF electrolytic capacitors, custom air-core coils, and low DCR steel laminate inductor for vanishingly low distortion and seamless driver integration. This precision-tuned network preserves even the most microscopic sonic nuances while handling the full dynamics of any source. |
