Mordaunt-Short's Aviano 1 offers an elegant, contemporary take on the classic bookshelf speaker. Aluminum Cone Midwoofer
The Aviano 1's 5.25" midwoofer uses a CPCTM aluminum cone, which ensures highly predictable driver performance with controlled piston-like movement at lower frequencies and minimal distortion at higher frequencies. Lightweight aluminum is chosen for faithful dynamics.
Exclusive V-Form technology incorporates an innovative driver cone connection to help maintain driver rigidity and results in a bigger, purer soundstage. Varied surround thickness aids pistonic operation and gives genuine timing improvements. The high flux density, self-shielding neodymium magnet assemblies offer improved sensitivity and better dynamics than conventional. Powerful Y30 magnets further enhance Aviano’s woofer.
Advanced Tweeter Design
Mordaunt-Short’s 20-year expertise in aluminum dome tweeter technology now features a computer-modeled housing for improved dispersion characteristics. The 1" tweeter utilizes a high temperature voice coil with liquid cooling and damping for controlled high frequency performance and amazing detail.
A purist crossover design is isolation-mounted to minimize distortion. It features premium grade components including high saturation inductors, DVPC (Dual Value Parallel Capacitors) and oversized resistors to optimal signal transfer.
Sophisticated Cabinet
The Aviano 1's new cabinet and driver bracing design provide ultimate rigidity and support. Internal high-density wadding provides critical damping of standing waves. The curved front baffle improves rigidity and dispersion. Rear porting improves bass characteristics. Sculpted bullet terminals facilitate easy connection using banana plugs, spade terminals, or bare cable. |
