Small, Elegant, and Loud
Monitor Audio's i-deck 100 is small and elegant enough to blend with any space but can fill the largest rooms with astonishingly clear, full-frequency sound that's comparable with many full-sized hi-fi systems.
"Behind the sculptural aesthetics of Monitor Audio's new iDevice docks you'll find some interesting engineering, including room correction and a well-spec'd DAC," notes Michael Berk
in his July 26, 2011 review for Sound and Vision magazine.
"Taking the digital stream from your iPod or iPhone, the i-deck produces an open, spacious sound," reports What Hi-fi? magazine for October, 2011. "The expansive soundstage is mighty impressive."
"Ample Yet Well-Defined Bass"
"The i-deck 100 sounded great: smooth, airy, detailed, and honest on the full gamut of music," reports Daniel Kumin in a column of holiday suggestions for Sound + Vision magazine, November, 2011. "Monitor's dock plays plenty loudly for even fairly serious listening, with ample yet well-defined bass for more casual listening."
Dock your iPod or iPhone, and the i-deck 100 streams its pure digital signal to a high-performance audio engine consisting of two 3" C-CAM bass drivers individually powered by customized twin 30-watt 'Class D' amplifiers, and two .75" C-CAM Gold dome tweeters, each driven by precision-tuned 15-watt power modules.
The i-deck takes maximum advantage of its digital connection to your iPhone or iPod. It bypasses Apple's DAC and instead boosts sonic performance by utilizing the i-deck's 28/56-bit dual precision DAC instead.
It 'Listens' to Your Listening Room
Each time you plug it in the i-deck 200, it intelligently adjusts its sound to compensate for room-boom and positioning via Automatic Position Correction technology, so you'll enjoy a wider, more natural performance than you'd expect from such a compact design. How does it perform this feat? The i-deck incorporates a built-in microphone that 'listens' to the acoustics of your room and uses its digital equalization and digital signal processing to adjust for i-deck's placement near a wall, in a corner, or all by its lonesome out in space.
Automatic bass management is another great feature. It makes sure you're getting plenty of solid, undistorted bass whether you've got the volume turned down low or cranked way high. |
