The Pro-Ject Stereo Box S is a combination of the Pro-Ject Amp Box Stereo S compact stereo amplifier and the Pro-Ject Pre Box S compact stereo preamplifier in one case. An IR remote allows you to remotely switch inputs and adjust the high-quality motorized volume control.

High-Performance Preamp Section
The preamp section performs basic input switching and high-performance audio amplification. It features ultra-low noise ICs and dual-mono circuitry for exceptional audio fidelity with neutral sound. It also has SMD construction for short signal paths plus low output impedance for low loss with long cables. A record output is also included, which gives the opportunity to use the Stereo Box S with other Pro-Ject Box Series components, such as the Head Box S.
Tube-like Sound Quality
Thirty-five years of R&D by Pro-Ject went into the design of the amplifier section of the Stereo Box S. An ultra high-efficiency Bi-Phase PWM (Pulse Wave Modulation) circuit with SMD parts gives outstanding audio performance. It fulfills the demand for high resolution, superior micro dynamics, and room-filling power, delivering 2 x 25 watts at 8 ohms or 2 x 35 watts at 4 ohms (both channels driven).
Sound quality is aimed to be as close as possible to 'Class A' tube amplifiers with their liquid and lifelike presentation. The metal case helps shield the electronics from vibration and electromagnetic interference – and it stays cool on the outside. The outboard power supply keeps the chassis size small. |
