High Quality USB DAC
Get a high quality digital audio stream from the USB port of your Windows or Mac computer and convert it to a great sounding analog signal with the Pro-Ject USB Box S ultra-compact DAC. Windows computer systems normally resample CDs with Windows Kernel mixer, and this conversion deteriorates the audio performance. Pro-Ject Direct Streaming allows bit-by-bit processing. This avoids unwanted alteration of the signal through bypassing the Windows Kernel mixer. For replay, a suitable software player like foobar 2000 (freeware) is needed.
The USB Box S uses a Burr Brown 2702E, 16-Bit Delta Sigma DAC with a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz. It has a USB 1.1 input (which also powers the unit) and one pair of gold-plated RCA output jacks. The ultra-low impedance output stage makes it easy to use with a wide range of powered speakers, amplifiers, etc.
The USB Box S uses SMD technology for the shortest signal paths and best audio performance. The metal casing helps protect against vibration and interference. |
