The aptly named Xpression Classic turntable from Pro-Ject offers clean, classic styling plus affordable performance reminiscent of the golden age of hi-fi gear when vinyl reigned as king.

Pristine Operation
Pristine operation is the focus of the Xpression Classic technology, keeping noise out of the signal chain. A quiet running AC motor with a two-step pulley drives the hub and platter via a flat-ground belt. The medium density fiber plinth stands on three height-adjustable rubber-damped aluminum cones for isolation from room vibration. The motor is decoupled from the plinth to further reduce vibration transmission.
Sandwich-Construction Platter System
For signal purity, the Xpression Classic uses a sophisticated resonance-optimized platter system in a sandwich construction consisting of the hub, a fine-balanced aluminum platter, and a cork mat. (A standard felt mat is also provided). The platter's low-tolerance chrome-plated stainless-steel axle runs on a polished ball bearing in a brass bearing housing. The external power supply avoids potential electro-mechanical interference.
Connection to the phono input of your phono stage or integrated amplifier can be made using the cables of your choice via the gold plated phono jacks and ground screw. A basic cable is provided.
Pro-Ject 8.6c Carbon-Fiber Tonearm
A custom 8.6" Pro-Ject 8.6c tonearm with an conical carbon-fiber arm tube resists standing wave reflections for cleaner sound. A low mass aluminum head shell is securely glued to the arm tube. The inverted bearings consist of four hardened stainless steel points bearing in sapphire 'cushes' for exceptionally smooth operation. A flexible counterweight shaft avoids vibration at undesirable frequencies.
Lots of adjustability features ensure the best possible playback. The solid arm base permits accurate height adjustment of the arm tube and VTA (vertical tracking angle). The included counterweight supplied is suitable for cartridges weighing between 7 and 12 grams. The single-screw attachment of the arm tube allows rotation for easy adjustment of needle azimuth despite the fixed headshell.
The internal wiring consists of flexible high-purity copper from the headshell right through to the gold-plated phono jacks. The silicone-damped arm lift can be adjusted to suit the working height of the arm.
Sumiko Pearl Phono Cartridge
The Pro-Ject Xpression Classic turntable comes with everything you need for musical enjoyment. Not only is the quality tonearm included, but also a Sumiko Pearl MM moving magnet phono cartridge, featuring an alloy cantilever, bonded elliptical stylus and 4.0mV output.
