Peachtree Audio's decco65 is four great products in one. It's a hybrid tube preamp, a 65-watt-per-channel amplifier, an ESS Sabre 24/192 DAC, and a headphone amp. 'World's Best' ESS Sabre 24/192 DAC
The decco65 has a built-in ESS Sabre Digital-to-Analog Converter, which is widely recognized as one of the worldʼs best DACs when dealing with 'hostile' digital components like computers and streamers. Jitter is all but eliminated for utmost signal purity. The reason that this DAC performs so well is the hundreds of additional parts and multiple power supplies designed around the ESS chip by Peachtree. They all work in unison to produce the Peachtree sonic signature.
Also included are one optical digital input, two coaxial digital inputs, and one analog input.
24/192 Capable Asynchronous USB Input
The 24/192 capable asynchronous USB input provides the best possible processing from this port and furthers the efforts of the ESS Sabre DAC. Asynchronous communication allows a high precision clock inside the decco65 to control the timing of the bitstream from the computer to the DAC.
Galvanic Isolation for Extremely Low Noise
Typically reserved for more expensive DAC circuits, galvanic isolation prevents electrical noise from entering the DAC board on all grounded digital inputs. Any contamination due to the switching power supply, multiple ground points, and high speed processing is isolated from the DAC, so that nothing but 'pure ones and zeroes' reach the DAC circuit.
Great Sounding Tube Buffer Stage
The decco65's tube buffer stage uses a stereo triode 6N1P to smooth the harsh digital edge found in poor recordings and compressed audio. It works especially well for Pandora, MOG, Spotify and most cloud-based listening and can be conveniently switch on and off via the wireless remote control.
Dedicated Headphone Amp
The decco65's gorgeous sounding headphone amp switches the speakers off when your headphones are inserted, letting you fill your head with lush high-resolution music. The headphone output runs through the tube stage so that you can enjoy that smooth tube sound.
Muscular Amplifier Section
The decco65's amplifier section uses advanced technology found in some premium amplifiers. This high performance 'Class D' design has the ability to drive 65 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 95 watts per channel into 4 ohms with a very natural sound.
The decco65 amplifier has the sonic signature of a great A/B amp with the power efficiency of Class D. Its combination of low distortion, high bandwidth, and energy efficiency make it the ideal partner to the decco65 digital front end and hybrid tube preamp.
