Muscular Power Amplifier with DAC and Tube Buffer Stage
You want to play your music louder without distortion. You want to feed your power hungry loudspeakers all of the watts that they deserve. You want to fill a cavernous room with a throbbing bass line. You need more power. You need the nova125 from Peachtree Audio.
The nova125 shares the same preamp circuitry and DAC as Peachtree's popular decco65. The power supply and amplifier output stage are unique to the nova125, however. As a result, the nova125 provides greater dynamics and detail than the already superb decco65.
Four Products in One
The nova125 is four great products in one. It's a hybrid tube preamp, a 125-watt-per-channel amplifier, an ESS Sabre 24/192 DAC, and a headphone amp. It performs all of these functions beautifully and does it in a compact space, making it the perfect audio component for many applications. In fact, the nova125 is so complete that the only thing left to add is your computer or streamer and a pair of speakers.
Simple and elegant, the nova125 includes the inputs you really need for the sources you use. While fewer and fewer source components are analog these days, most integrated amplifiers lack digital inputs. But not the nova125. It was designed to enhance any digital source, from mp3 to full 24/192 on your computer to Apple TV, Sonos, music servers, Internet radio, or whatever source you choose.
'World's Best' ESS Sabre 24/192 DAC
The nova125 has a built-in ESS Sabre Digital-to-Analog Converter, which is widely recognized as one of the worldʼs best DACs when dealing with 'hostile' digital components like computers and streamers. Jitter is all but eliminated for utmost signal purity. The reason that this DAC performs so well is the hundreds of additional parts and multiple power supplies designed around the ESS chip by Peachtree. They all work in unison to produce the Peachtree sonic signature.
Also included are one optical digital input, two coaxial digital inputs, and one analog input.
24/192 Asynchronous USB Input
The 24/192 asynchronous USB input has a major impact on the overall sound quality of the nova125 and represents a huge technological leap from the previous Nova and iNova. Asynchronous communication keeps digital jitter at bay by not relying on the audio clock in the computer, which can get thrown off time by the thousands of processes running in your operating system's background. The USB input on the nova125 provides the best possible resolution, which furthers the efforts of the ESS Sabre DAC.
Galvanic Isolation
Galvanic isolation blocks electrical noise from all of the digital inputs on the nova125. Computers and digital streamers are prime sources of electrical noise. Even when you can't hear this noise directly, it masks fine details and distorts the tone of music. Galvanic isolation eliminates this noise. Also any contamination due to the switching power supply, multiple ground points, and high speed processing is isolated from the DAC, so that nothing but 'pure ones and zeroes' reach the DAC circuit.
Great Sounding Tube Buffer Stage
The nova125's tube buffer stage uses a stereo triode 6N1P to smooth the harsh digital edge found in poor recordings and compressed audio. It works especially well for Pandora, MOG, Spotify and most cloud-based listening and can be conveniently switched on and off via the wireless remote control. The single 6N1P triode will last years for the average listener. Its easy to change and inexpensive to replace.
125-watt-per-channel Power Amplifier
The nova125's 125-watt-per-channel power amplifier takes advantage of the newest generation of 'Class D' technology. It takes audio performance to a whole new level with advances including extended bandwidth, improved dynamic range, and exceptionally low distortion. These high current output stages can comfortably drive any speaker load from 2 ohms. This amplifier has enough muscle to power any speaker you use and sounds great at any volume.
Beautiful Sounding Headphone Stage
The headphone amp enables you to listen in solitude without sacrificing sound quality. Most headphones need more than the tiny amount of power that trickles out of the headphone jack from your computer or iPod. Plug your cans into the nova125 and hear what they sound like with copious amounts of undistorted power driving them. |
