#1 Vibrapods Recommended For Components Weighing 8-12 lbs.

Stereophile Magazine Recommended Component

1998 SoundStage! Audio Online Reviewer's Choice Award

Give your AV components a lift by isolating them from vibrations with new Vibrapod Isolators. Use Vibrapods in place of the stock hard rubber feet on amps, CD players, DVD machines, DSS receivers, preamps, etc., that can transfer vibrations into the audio and video chain, degrading performance. Just place the vinyl Vibrapods around the edges of each component and begin enjoying cleaner sound and sharper, more detailed video images.

"I keep a box of them around so that no component goes without," reports NR in the "Recommended Components" section of the October 1998 Stereophile. Use four or more per component, depending on weight.

Vibrapod donates 10% of sales to outreach organizations.

  • Recommended Weight: 2.5 lbs. or 1.13 kg. per Vibrapod (10 lbs. or 4.52 kg. total with set of 4)
  • Weight Range: between 2 to 3 lbs. or between .9 to 1.36 kg. per Vibrapod (8 to 12 lbs. or 3.6 kg. to 5.44 kg. total with set of 4)
  • Suggested Uses: CD, DVD, DSS Receivers, Laserdisc Players and Transports, DAC's, Preamps, Amplifiers, Integrateds, Speakers
  • Temp Range: 50º F to 100º F
  • Height: 0.56"
  • Diameter: 2.44"
"The improvements were so utterly astounding as to make me a bit incredulous... at $6 each, I think this product is the audio bargain of the decade."
-Anna Logg, The Abso!ute Sound, Issue 118, June/July 1999.

"The Vibrapods just plain ol' make sense, and the best part of the deal is the price: only $6 each! Furthermore, the dudes at Vibrapod are donating 10% of sales to outreach organizations. Man, now this is what I call a company with a big heart! You might wanna buy 'em by the dozen for only 72 schmackers."
-Steven Rochlin, SoundStage! Audio Online, August 1998.

Vibrapods were awarded the Reviewer's Choice Award for 1998 from SoundStage! Audio Online

"Forget all that stupid voodoo-science others may have told you and test drive a set of VibrapodT Isolators: your ears will definitely thank you."
-Lucio Cadeddu, TNT-Audio - Internet HiFi magazine, January, 1999.

"What was really telling in my going back and forth from cones to Pods was that, when the Pods were on duty, I would forget what I was doing and just sit there listening. Doesn't that say it all?"
-Bruce Kennett, Listener Magazine, Autumn 1998

"It's hard to beat the cost/performance benefit provided by the Vibrapod isolation feet, seen nearly everywhere this year."
-Shannon Dickson, Stereophile, May 1999 (Vol.22 No.5)

Why do I need Vibrapod Isolators?

Because inherent vibrations in the listening environment degrade the sound quality of your audio/video system. Vibrapods soak up this harmful vibration allowing your gear to perform as the factory intended.

How do Vibrapod Isolators work?

Vibrapod Isolators were designed to isolate your components from vibration in both the horizontal and vertical planes.

What effect will Vibrapod Isolators have on my system?

You will notice an extended and more defined bass, improved imaging and soundstage, greater dynamics and detail, plus sharper video images.

Where should I place my Vibrapod Isolators?

Under flat areas of the component with more Vibrapod Isolators at or near the heaviest areas and at the edges. If there are no flat areas then place your component on a piece of 3/8" to 1/2" thick MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) or plastic, or 1/4" glass shelving ( though glass is highly resonant ) locating VIBRAPOD Isolators below the VIBRAPOD Sandwich.

My component is much heavier on one side. How do I use VIBRAPOD Isolators?

Use a combination of Models 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 VIBRAPOD Isolators placing the Models 3, 4, or 5 VIBRAPOD Isolators under the heaviest area of your component and either the Models 1, 2, or 3 VIBRAPOD Isolators under the lighter areas.

How much weight can each VIBRAPOD Isolator support?

The following table should help.

Recommended Weight

Model 1 2 to 3lbs.
Optimum 2 1/2lbs
(each)
Model 2 4 to 8lbs.
Optimum 6lbs
(each)
Model 3 9 to 13lbs.
Optimum 11lbs
(each)
Model 4 14 to 18lbs.
Optimum 16lbs
(each)
Model 5 22 to 28lbs.
Optimum 25lbs
(each)

Do not put more than necessary under a component. More does not mean better. However, More of a Lower Model will usually perform better than Fewer of a Higher Model. For instance, if a component weighs 20 lbs. 8 Model 1's will usually perform better than 4 Model 2's.

Which way up should VIBRAPOD Isolators be placed?

Either Dome up or down. Hot Amplifiers will require that the dome is facing down for best results. Otherwise use the next Higher Model VIBRAPOD Isolator under the heaviest and hottest area of the amp.

Can I place my VIBRAPOD Isolators in groups?

We don’t recommend CLOSE triangular formations where they touch.

Can I replace the feet that are on my component with VIBRAPOD Isolators?

Yes, but please check with your dealer for proper installation.

Can I use VIBRAPOD Isolators in conjunction with air isolation devices?

Yes, but in some instances not with the same component.

Can I use VIBRAPOD Isolators under rugs or carpet?

VIBRAPOD Isolators were not designed for use under carpets or rugs.

Can VIBRAPOD Isolators be used in between components?

Yes. Use either the Model 3, 4 or 5 VIBRAPOD Isolators under the bottom component and use enough to support the combined weight of the stacked components. We do not recommend stacking components.

Can I put VIBRAPOD Isolators under my speakers?

A. Yes, Vibrapods are often quite effective when placed underneath speakers sitting on hard, level surfaces.

How do I place the VIBRAPOD Isolators under my equipment?

It is easiest placing VIBRAPOD Isolators using some 3/4" wood blocks under the sides of your equipment and then sliding the VIBRAPOD Isolators in using a long spoon or fork. They will slide easiest with the Dome facing up.

My VIBRAPOD Isolators look slightly squished when in place. Does this mean that they are no longer isolating?

VIBRAPOD Isolators should be 'loaded' or under some pressure for best isolation. They should not be flattened but a deformation of the Dome is normal.

I have put too much weight on my VIBRAPOD Isolators and they are really squashed. Is there any way to fix this?

Yes. Place the squashed VIBRAPOD Isolators on a flat cookie sheet and bake in an oven at 175° to 200° F ( 80° to 94° C) for 10 minutes or 5 minutes in a convection oven. Remove from the oven and place in a safe area away from children until they have cooled. You may want to wait several hours for them to return to their normal consistency before putting them back in service.

The VIBRAPOD Isolators came looking slightly out of round from the dealer. Are these ok?

Yes, and you may want to do the same to these VIBRAPOD Isolators as in the answer above.
DO NOT MICROWAVE.

Alternate Use for Vibapod
I use a Vibapod Isolation Foot inside my Cambridge Audio Azur 640A v2 Integrated Amp. It fits perfectly atop the transformer and can be screwed down on top of it securely. This improves on the quality sound I get from the set I use as footers for my amp.
