Tower Is the First Step in AudioQuest's Bridges & Falls Series
AudioQuest's Tower is the least expensive analog cable the company makes. It opens the Bridges & Falls series, a family of single-ended cables that carry both channels in one slim jacket. Solid copper and AudioQuest's own cold-welded plugs arrive at the entry price.
Other length & termination options are available. Call us to discuss your needs.
Solid Long-Grain Copper in Foamed Insulation
The wires are solid Long-Grain Copper, which AudioQuest calls LGC. Solid wire has no strands to rub against one another, and AudioQuest names strand interaction as a major source of distortion. Each wire sits in Foamed-Polyethylene, which is mostly air, so little of the signal is stored and released late.
The Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Plug, Explained
Tower ends in AudioQuest's own gold-plated RCA plug. It is cold welded, not soldered. A press bonds the plug to the wire under high pressure. AudioQuest calls solder "a common source of distortion." The cold weld keeps the wire's character right up to the contact.
For noise control, Tower uses AudioQuest's Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation, which absorbs radio-frequency noise before it reaches the ground layer, and all its internal conductors are Direction-Controlled to reduce RF noise. The layout is AudioQuest's Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry, which gives the ground path a lower impedance than the signal path. The jacket is Black with White Stripes PVC.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Tower is listed in Stereophile’s Recommended Components. Stephen Mejias called the four Bridges & Falls cables "truly affordable, truly high-quality interconnects" and could "think of no better place to start than AudioQuest."
Yagiz, reviewing the RCA version for Headfonia, found that Tower "introduced a good amount of air and spaciousness" next to a generic cable.
Who Is This Interconnect Best For?
- You are replacing the cable that came in the box — Tower is solid copper with cold-welded plugs, so the first upgrade is real
- Space behind the rack is tight — one slim cable carries both channels, so it bends where a pair will not
- You want no solder in the path — AudioQuest cold welds the plug to the wire, so the joint is metal on metal
- You may move up later — every Bridges & Falls cable above Tower shares this layout, so each step is familiar
- Your left and right jacks sit far apart — both channels share one cable, with a single conductor body that splits at each end into the left and right RCA plugs. If your gear is spread very wide apart, call us
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Run Tower from a line-level output, a DAC, streamer, CD player or phono stage, to a line-level input on your amplifier or preamp. Keep left to left and right to right. Push each plug straight on until it seats. Pull it off by the barrel, never by the cable.
Then listen.
Measure the Path, Then Add a Little Slack
Measure the route the cable will really take between your components, around shelves and behind the rack. Then add a little slack. As audio legend George Cardas puts it, "A cable that's just long enough usually turns out to be just not long enough."
A Long Run Between Components?
If your amplifier and speakers sit far from your source, we recommend a long interconnect over a long speaker cable. A really long interconnect affects system performance less than a really long speaker cable.
When Is It Time to Upgrade?
An interconnect often stays in a system for years, so it is easy to overlook. Look again when something else changes: a new DAC, streamer or phono stage, or a better amplifier.
Pairs Well With
An interconnect is one link in the chain. It usually joins these categories.
- Integrated Amplifiers — the usual input end
- Digital-to-Analog Converters — DAC output to amplifier
- Phono Preamplifiers — phono stage to line input
- Speaker Cables — the last link to the speakers
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cold-welded, gold-plated plug?
AudioQuest's own gold-plated RCA plug. It is joined to the wire by pressure, not solder. AudioQuest names solder as a common source of distortion.
Is this one cable or two?
One cable. AudioQuest's Bridges & Falls cables carry both channels in a single conductor body that splits at each end into the left and right RCA plugs. There are two plugs at each end and one lead to route behind the rack. It is not sold as a single-RCA cable.
What warranty does AudioQuest give?
Limited lifetime warranty with proof of purchase from an authorized dealer.
Is there a step up?
AudioQuest Evergreen is the next rung. It keeps the same copper and layout and adds a braided jacket. Stereophile heard gains in focus and tone color moving up the line.

- Left and right channels in one cable, as AudioQuest sells every Bridges & Falls model
- Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors, which AudioQuest says sound smoother and clearer than regular OFHC copper, with fewer oxides, impurities and grain boundaries
- Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion
- Foamed-Polyethylene insulation, whose high air content stores and releases little energy
- Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation, which absorbs radio-frequency noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground
- Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry for single-ended use: ground and shield are separate paths, with lower impedance on the ground
- Cold-welded, gold-plated RCA plugs: no solder in the joint, and stamped (not machined) ground shells so the metal can be chosen for low distortion
- Type: Analog audio interconnect
- Termination: AudioQuest cold-welded, gold-plated RCA to RCA
- Series: Bridges & Falls
- Channels: Left and right in one cable
- Conductors: Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC)
- Insulation: Foamed-Polyethylene
- Geometry: Asymmetrical Double-Balanced
- Noise-Dissipation: Metal-Layer
