A Planar 8 Tonearm on an Ultra-Light Plinth

The plinth uses Rega's Tancast 8 foam core with HPL laminate and a brushed aluminum skin. Double Brace Technology stiffens it between the tonearm mount and the main bearing. On top sits the hand-assembled RB880 tonearm, usually found on the Planar 8.

Neo MK2 Power Supply and Twin-Belt Drive

A hand-tuned 24V low-noise motor is matched to the included Neo MK2 power supply. It drives the sub platter through a CNC twin drive pulley and two Reference EBLT belts. The Neo MK2 adds electronic speed change and fine speed adjustment in 0.01 RPM steps.

Ania Moving Coil Cartridge, Factory Fitted

The Ania uses a hand-wound coil on an iron micro cross, a high-powered neodymium magnet and an elliptical stylus. Its rigid PPS body uses Rega's three-point fixing, which sets overhang automatically on a Rega arm. Rega fits and aligns it at the factory.

The Ania is a low-output moving coil cartridge, rated at 350 μV. It needs a moving coil phono stage, and the Fono MC MK4 in the box is exactly that. Rega ships it with factory settings matched to its MC cartridges.

The turntable has no built-in phono stage of its own. Its RCA leads go into the Fono MC, which then connects to a line input on your amplifier. You do not need an MM phono input on your amp.

This package comes in one finish only: brushed metallic aluminum.

How Does It Connect to Your System?

Place the turntable on a rigid, level surface. Check the drive belts are in place, remove the transport card, then fit the platter and mat.

Remove the stylus guard and balance the tonearm. Set tracking force on the dial, then set the bias slider to the same number. Rega's manual lists 1.75g for the Ania.

Plug the tonearm's RCA leads into the Fono MC (red is right, black is left). Connect the Fono MC to a line input on your amplifier. Power up the Neo MK2 and press its button to start the platter.
