Analysis Plus REL Cable Connects Your REL Subwoofer Straight to Your Amplifier
Analysis Plus built this cable for REL subwoofers. It uses the company's proprietary hollow oval design for tight, clean bass, and it ends in a Neutrik SpeakOn plug for the REL, with spade lugs or banana plugs for your amplifier.
A REL subwoofer can connect to your system two ways: with an RCA subwoofer cable, or directly to your amplifier's speaker terminals with a specially designed cable like this one. The speaker-terminal connection lets you use a REL with virtually any home theater receiver.
Other length & termination options are available. Call us to discuss your needs.
Hollow Oval Design for Tight, Clean Bass
Analysis Plus uses its proprietary hollow oval conductor geometry in this cable to give you tight, clean bass.
The SpeakOn Plug REL Subwoofers Use
The REL end is a Swiss-made Neutrik SpeakOn connector. Analysis Plus notes that over 100,000 REL subwoofers worldwide use this connector, and calls it reliable, neutral and a mechanically ideal connector. The amplifier end comes with your choice of spade lugs or banana connectors, shown in the listing title.
Who Is This Subwoofer Cable Best For?
- You own a REL subwoofer — this cable plugs into the REL's SpeakOn input and runs to your amplifier
- Your receiver has only speaker terminals — the speaker-terminal connection works with virtually any home theater receiver
- You want spades or bananas — the amplifier end is available either way, so it fits your terminals
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Plug the SpeakOn end into the matching input on your REL subwoofer. Connect the spade lugs or banana plugs to your amplifier's speaker terminals, following your REL manual for which lead goes where. Turn the amplifier off before you connect or disconnect anything.
Measure the Path, Then Add a Little Slack
Measure the route the cable will really take from your electronics to your subwoofer, around furniture and along the baseboard. Then add a little slack. As audio legend George Cardas puts it, "A cable that's just long enough usually turns out to be just not long enough."
A Long Run to the Subwoofer?
Subwoofers often sit far from the electronics. If yours does, we recommend a long interconnect rather than a long speaker cable. A really long interconnect affects system performance less than a really long speaker cable.
When Is It Time to Upgrade?
A subwoofer cable often stays in a system for years, so it is easy to overlook. Look again when something else changes: a new subwoofer, a new receiver or preamp, or a move to a bigger room.
Pairs Well With
A subwoofer cable joins your electronics to your subwoofer. These are the categories on either end of it.
- Subwoofers — the other end of the cable
- Preamplifiers — a source of subwoofer output in a stereo system
- Home Theater Receivers — the usual place the subwoofer output lives
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use an RCA cable with my REL instead?

Will it work with my home theater receiver?
The speaker-terminal connection lets you connect a REL subwoofer to virtually any home theater receiver.
What is a SpeakOn connector?
A locking Neutrik connector. Analysis Plus says over 100,000 REL subwoofers use it.
What warranty comes with it?
Analysis Plus covers mechanical defects for one year from the date of purchase on products sold new. Keep your proof of purchase.
