The Most Advanced Turntable in Pro-Ject’s Debut Series
The Pro-Ject Debut Reference 10 brings premium materials, extensive adjustment, and balanced-output capability to the company’s long-running Debut series. Its 10-inch carbon-aluminum tonearm, acrylic platter, aluminum sub-platter, and pre-adjusted Pick it Pro B cartridge create a carefully matched analog source that is ready for serious listening.
This fully manual belt-drive turntable plays 33 and 45 rpm records with electronic speed selection. A separate round belt supports 78 rpm operation, although playing shellac records also requires an appropriate 78 rpm cartridge or stylus.
Accurate Tracking from a 10-Inch Hybrid Tonearm
The one-piece 10-inch tonearm combines carbon fiber and aluminum. Carbon fiber provides rigidity, while aluminum contributes internal damping. The longer 254 mm effective length reduces tracking-angle error compared with a conventional 8.6-inch arm.
Both vertical tracking angle and azimuth are adjustable, allowing careful alignment of the included cartridge or a future replacement. An aluminum counterweight with TPE damping and adaptive anti-skating further support stable cartridge tracking.
Acrylic Platter and Precision Aluminum Sub-Platter
The 300 mm acrylic platter provides a direct record surface, eliminating the need for a separate platter mat. Beneath it, a diamond-cut aluminum sub-platter is manufactured to tighter tolerances than a conventional molded plastic component.
The sub-platter rotates on a high-precision stainless-steel axle inside a bronze bushing. Pro-Ject’s included Record Puck E holds the record against the platter during playback.
Electronic Speed Control and Improved Isolation
A built-in DC/AC power generator creates a controlled drive signal for the motor. The top-mounted selector provides convenient electronic switching between 33 and 45 rpm, so there is no need to move the belt when changing between LPs and 45s.
The motor is suspended within the eight-layer painted MDF chassis to limit vibration transfer. Three damped aluminum feet are height adjustable, making it easier to level the turntable and establish a stable foundation.
Ready for RCA or True Balanced Systems
The factory-installed Pick it Pro B is a specially configured moving-magnet cartridge that supports balanced signal transmission. The turntable provides conventional gold-plated RCA outputs and a balanced mini-XLR output, allowing it to work with traditional MM phono stages or a compatible True Balanced system.
A Connect it Phono E RCA cable is included for conventional systems. Using the mini-XLR output requires a compatible balanced phono preamplifier and the appropriate mini-XLR phono cable, both sold separately. No phono preamplifier is built into the turntable.
Is the Pro-Ject Debut Reference 10 Right for You?
- Top-tier Debut performance: Choose it if you want the most advanced materials and adjustments currently offered in Pro-Ject’s Debut series.
- Cartridge included: The Pick it Pro B is pre-adjusted, reducing setup compared with a no-cartridge turntable.
- Phono stage required: Connect it to an MM phono input or external phono preamplifier; it cannot feed a standard AUX input directly.
- Balanced upgrade path: The mini-XLR output supports a True Balanced connection when used with a compatible cable and phono stage.
- Manual operation: There is no automatic start, stop, or tonearm return.
Setup, Compatibility & What’s Included
Install the sub-platter, belt, acrylic platter, counterweight, and anti-skating weight before use. Confirm the recommended 2.0-gram tracking force and level the turntable with its adjustable feet. The cartridge arrives mounted and pre-adjusted.
The package includes a hinged dust cover, Record Puck E, Connect it Phono E RCA cable, 78 rpm belt, 7-inch single adapter, tracking-force gauge, alignment protractor, Allen keys, and power supply.
Features
