ELAC Debut ConneX DCB61 Powered Speakers – Pair
What You Need to Know
A Complete Music System in Two Boxes
The ELAC Debut ConneX DCB61 is a fully active loudspeaker system that replaces an entire stack of components. Amplification, DSP crossover, DAC, phono preamp, HDMI, and Bluetooth all live inside the primary speaker—so a turntable, a TV, and a phone are all you need to build a serious system.
Bigger than ELAC's popular DCB41, the DCB61 steps up to a 6.5-inch woofer and 160 watts of Class D power, reaching down to 48Hz without a subwoofer.
Available in Black Ash, Crisp White, Walnut, or Olive Green, and sold as a pair.
Fully Active: An Amplifier for Every Driver
This isn't a powered speaker with a passive crossover bolted on. The DCB61 divides the signal digitally before amplification, then feeds each driver its own dedicated Class D amplifier—60 watts to each woofer, 20 watts to each tweeter, 160 watts total.
Removing the passive crossover from the signal path eliminates its losses and lets ELAC's engineers shape the response with far more precision than components alone allow. It's the same approach used in professional studio monitors, and it's the DCB61's single biggest advantage over conventional powered speakers.
6.5-Inch Woofer and Waveguide-Loaded Tweeter
A custom long-excursion 6.5-inch woofer moves real air, loaded by an internally folded S-shaped bass reflex port for output to 48Hz (-3dB), with useful response to 41Hz. Above it, a 19mm soft dome tweeter sits flush in a custom-engineered waveguide that controls dispersion for a wider, more stable sweet spot.
The cabinets are 12mm reinforced MDF with removable cloth grilles—real speaker engineering, not a plastic desktop box.
HDMI ARC, Optical, USB, Bluetooth, and Phono
Connect your TV via HDMI ARC with CEC, and your TV remote controls volume, mute, and power—with Dolby Digital decoded onboard. Add optical for a second video source, asynchronous USB (24-bit/96kHz) for a computer, and Bluetooth with the modern LC3 codec for phones and tablets.
Best of all, switch the rear panel to Phono and the RCA inputs become a moving magnet phono stage with a proper ground terminal. Plug a turntable straight in—no separate preamp required.
DSP That Adapts to Your Room
The free ELAC ConneX app unlocks a genuinely useful control set: four boundary presets tuned for wall, shelf, desk, or TV placement; a 5-band EQ with six presets plus a custom slot; ELAC's XBass low-frequency enhancer; Night Mode compression for late listening; and a subwoofer high-pass when you add a sub.
Simple to Set Up, Flexible to Place
All the electronics live in the primary speaker, connected to the secondary by an included 15-foot braided cable with locking connectors—long enough for wide stereo separation. A rear switch assigns the primary speaker to the left or right channel, so it can sit on whichever side your sources are. An IR remote, HDMI cable, power cord, and rubber feet are all in the box.
Building Your System
Set the DCB61 on 24 to 26-inch stands for critical listening, or straight onto a desk or shelf and pick the matching boundary preset in the app. Feed it from a turntable, a TV, a computer, or a phone—or all four at once.
Bass reaches low enough that many listeners never add a subwoofer for music. For movies, the RCA subwoofer output pairs with any powered sub; set level and crossover on the subwoofer itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
What else do I need to buy?
Nothing but sources. Amplification, DAC, phono preamp, and Bluetooth are all built in, and the speaker cable, HDMI cable, power cord, and remote are included. Stands are the only common addition.
Can I plug my turntable in directly?
Yes—flip the rear switch to Phono and the RCA inputs become a moving magnet phono stage with a ground screw terminal. If your turntable has its own built-in preamp, leave the DCB61's phono switch off and use the line setting instead.
How is this different from the ConneX DCB41?
The DCB61 is larger and fully active: a 6.5-inch woofer instead of 4.5, 160 watts instead of the DCB41's output, deeper bass to 48Hz, and a DSP crossover ahead of four amplifier channels rather than a passive crossover after the amp.
Do I need a subwoofer?
For most music, no—48Hz covers the majority of recordings. For movies and bass-heavy material, the RCA subwoofer output connects any powered sub, with a high-pass filter for the mains available in the app.
