The Gen2 Obsidian Folded Motion XT Tweeter

MartinLogan’s Folded Motion tweeter pleats its diaphragm like an accordion, squeezing air rather than pushing it—and the XT version adds a larger motor and 40% more surface area than the standard Folded Motion driver, for higher output with lower distortion. A dedicated waveguide, chosen after nearly 50 design iterations, controls dispersion to 90° horizontal by 45° vertical.

A Purpose-Built Midrange, Sealed and Isolated

Voices and instruments come from a 6.5-inch Nomex-reinforced Kevlar cone in a cast aluminum basket, sealed in its own non-resonant chamber so woofer pressure never colors the midrange. Unibody cone construction keeps it rigid and light, for the clarity a great three-way delivers and a two-way cannot.

Three 8-Inch Woofers and Twin Cannon Ports

Three aluminum-cone 8-inch woofers with oversized motors and cast aluminum baskets fire into a non-resonant asymmetrical chamber, vented by bottom-firing Twin Cannon bass ports. Because the ports exhaust downward through the base rather than out the back, the F200 delivers deeper, cleaner bass with far more placement freedom than a rear-ported tower.

Floor Bounce Compensation completes the picture: woofer positions and crossover points are tuned to work with the floor reflection instead of fighting it.

The McCracken-Vojtko Crossover

Named for MartinLogan’s acoustic engineers, the custom 300Hz and 2,600Hz crossover was developed with proprietary simulation software and refined through double-blind listening tests. Combined with enhanced cabinet bracing, it welds five drivers into one coherent voice.

Built for Real Rooms

F.A.S.T. outrigger feet adjust and level without tools, with both steel spikes and rubber tips included for carpet or hard floors. Secure-Lock grille disks mount over each driver individually and rotate so the fabric grain lines up exactly as you like—or come off entirely.
