Begin with a Factory-Fitted Rega Carbon Cartridge

The included Rega Carbon is a moving-magnet cartridge with a conical stylus and carbon cantilever. Its design is easy to use and forgiving of small setup differences, making it a good match for both new vinyl listeners and experienced music fans who want a simple system.

The stylus can be replaced without removing the cartridge from the tonearm. Rega’s optional Carbon Pro stylus offers a simple future upgrade with a bonded elliptical diamond for improved groove tracking.

Enjoy Easy Setup with the RB110 Tonearm

The hand-assembled RB110 tonearm uses Rega-designed low-friction bearings and a stiff aluminum arm tube. Its preset bias removes the need to adjust anti-skate during setup. The cartridge is already mounted and aligned.

Simply place the platter and mat on the turntable, slide the supplied balance weight onto the tonearm, remove the stylus guard, and connect the Planar 1 to your system. Its fixed headshell adds rigidity but is not made for quick cartridge swaps.

Keep Records Turning Smoothly

The 23mm phenolic-resin platter uses added mass and a flywheel effect to support steady rotation. Beneath it, a brass main-bearing housing provides a firm center point while reducing stress on the bearing assembly.

A 24-volt low-noise synchronous motor turns the platter through Rega’s Advanced EBLT drive belt. The lightweight plinth and redesigned feet help limit vibration from the motor and the furniture supporting the turntable.

Setup, Compatibility & What’s Included

The Carbon cartridge comes mounted and aligned at the factory. Place the turntable on a firm, level surface, install the platter and mat, and slide the balance weight fully onto the back of the tonearm as shown in the quick-start guide. No separate bias adjustment is needed.

Connect the attached RCA cable to a moving-magnet phono input. If your amplifier, receiver, or powered speakers only have a standard line-level input, add an external MM phono preamp. The Planar 1 does not include a built-in phono stage, Bluetooth, USB output, amplifier, or speakers.
