Nine Tubes, and a Bluetooth Receiver
The SA-T7 MK is Vincent's reference preamplifier, and it does not travel light. Nine valves sit inside: four 6SCH9P, four 6SCH51P, and an 85A2 regulator holding the supply steady. All of them are new old stock, sourced from telecommunications supplies.
What makes it unusual is what sits alongside the glass. Optical and coaxial digital inputs feed a converter running to 24-bit/192kHz. Bluetooth handles a phone. A TV, a CD transport and a streaming service all reach a tube preamp without a separate DAC on the shelf.
Analog connections are generous too. Six RCA line inputs take the rest of your system. Two RCA pre-output pairs go out to amplifiers, with a record output alongside them and two 3.5mm jacks to switch a Vincent power amplifier in step.
What the Bench Says About the Glass
Tubes are usually a trade. Here the numbers do not read that way. Frequency response covers 10Hz to 100kHz within a tenth of a decibel. Distortion stays below 0.001% at 1kHz, and signal-to-noise is typically better than 100dB A-weighted.
Gain is 13.3dB at the volume control's maximum, from an input sensitivity of 430mV for two volts out. That is a comfortable match for most power amplifiers, and it keeps the volume control working in a useful part of its travel rather than pinned near the bottom.
The chassis measures 430 by 135 by 370mm and weighs 8.5kg, in black or silver. Power draw peaks at 58 watts, so nine tubes do not turn your rack into a radiator. Vincent covers it for two years.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Anthony Kershaw reviewed the SA-T7 MK for Audiophilia on August 1, 2024. His summary: "German engineering and manufacture, lovely sound at a reasonable price." He found that "the SA-T7 packs an audiophile wallop."
On the tubes he noted: "Vincent has taken great pains to implement their tubes (all NOS used in telecommunications)." He left it powered all day and reported: "The unit was well-ventilated but did not get too hot under the fingers."
One quirk worth knowing before it arrives. Kershaw notes there is "no on/off on the remote" — you switch the preamp on at the front panel, and the handset then covers mute, volume and input select.
Who Is This Preamplifier Best For?
- You want tubes without a separate DAC — optical, coaxial and Bluetooth are built in, running to 24-bit/192kHz. A TV and a disc player join a valve preamp with no converter to buy.
- Your system is mostly analog — six RCA line inputs mean a tuner, a CD player, a phono stage and a streamer all stay connected at once.
- You run two amplifiers, or a subwoofer — two pre-output pairs feed both from the same volume control, so you do not need a splitter or a second preamp.
- You keep gear a long time — the valves are new old stock types built for telecom duty, and Vincent backs the unit for two years, so a tube preamp stops feeling like a maintenance project.
- You play records — the SA-T7 MK takes line and digital sources only, so a turntable needs a phono stage ahead of it. Choose one to match your cartridge from our phono preamplifiers and feed it into any RCA input.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Run one RCA pre-output pair to your power amplifier and keep the second for a subwoofer. Analog sources fill the six line inputs. The record output sends a fixed level to a recorder.
A TV or disc player connects by optical or coaxial, and a phone pairs over Bluetooth. Wire the 3.5mm power-control jacks to a Vincent amplifier and the two switch together. Power up at the front panel, then use the remote.
Pairs Well With

Frequently Asked Questions
What tubes does it use?
Nine in total: four 6SCH9P, four 6SCH51P, and one 85A2 regulator tube in the power supply.
Does it have a built-in DAC?
Yes. The optical and coaxial inputs feed an onboard converter that handles up to 24-bit/192kHz.
Can I stream from my phone?
Yes. Bluetooth is built in and appears as its own input, so a phone or tablet connects without extra hardware.
How many inputs and outputs are there?
In: six RCA line pairs, one optical, one coaxial and Bluetooth. Out: two RCA pre-output pairs, a record output, and two 3.5mm power-control jacks.
How warm does it run?
Power consumption peaks at 58 watts. Give it ventilation above and behind, as you would any valve component, and it will happily stay on all evening.
What finishes and warranty are available?
Black or silver, at 430 by 135 by 370mm and 8.5kg, with a two-year warranty.

Audio Performance
Ultra-Low Noise Tube Circuit — The patented BestPentode design by Frank Blöhbaum eliminates the current-distribution noise historically associated with pentode tubes. The result is a tube stage with higher gain and lower noise than typical triode circuits, so your music comes through with clarity and natural warmth.
Exceptional Signal Purity — The proprietary Vimala power supply coupling module delivers extremely clean power to the tube stage. "Vimala" is Sanskrit for "pure, transparent, clear" — and that's exactly what this module is designed to achieve.
Built-In Hi-Res DAC — A PCM 5100-based digital-to-analog converter supports files up to 24-bit/192 kHz. This means your digital sources — whether streamed via Bluetooth or connected by optical or coaxial cable — get converted to analog with audiophile-grade precision right inside the preamp.
Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Streaming — Stream music directly from your phone, tablet, or computer. The built-in Bluetooth 5.0 receiver provides a stable connection and good audio quality for casual listening or discovering new music.
Tone Controls with Bypass — The SA-T7 MK includes precision bass and treble controls so you can tailor the sound to your room and preferences. Prefer the purest signal? A bypass switch removes the tone controls from the circuit entirely.
Selectable Output Impedance — Choose between 50-ohm and 600-ohm output impedance to best match your power amplifier. The extremely low output resistance (typically less than 1 ohm) ensures consistent performance across the full frequency range, regardless of cable choice.
Design & Build
German-Engineered, Hand-Tested — Critical circuit boards, including the proprietary Vimala and BestPentode modules, are assembled and individually tested in Germany by designer Frank Blöhbaum himself. Final assembly and quality verification are also conducted under his supervision.
NOS Tube Complement — The SA-T7 MK uses New Old Stock (NOS) tubes originally designed for 24/7 telecommunications use in professional settings. These highly reliable pentodes (4x 6SCH9P, 4x 6SCH51P, and 1x 85A2) were rated for a guaranteed lifespan of 10,000 hours in continuous operation.
Tube Viewing Window with Dimmable LED — A front-panel window lets you see the warm glow of the tubes in action. The amber LED illumination is adjustable or can be turned off entirely — perfect for dark rooms or home theater setups.
Included Remote Control — A slim metal remote handles input selection, volume, and mute. Power on/off is via the front panel.
