Upgrade Your Optical Connection to Carbon OptiLink
Upgrade your Toslink optical connection to OptiLink. Perfect for use with soundbars, subwoofers, and various A/V components, AudioQuest Carbon OptiLink optical digital cable features 19 narrow-aperture, highest-purity synthetic fibers to minimize timing errors, improve bandwidth, and optimize performance.
Precision polished fiber ends to greatly reduce digital timing errors known as jitter for superior performance in your hi-fi and home theater applications.
19 Narrow-Aperture Synthetic Fiber Conductors
The problem with optical fiber transmission is that dispersed light does get through the Toslink cable, but only after it has taken a longer path, like a pool ball bouncing off the side-rails, causing it to arrive later.
This delayed part of the signal prevents the computer charged with decoding the information from being decoded properly, or even at all. This reduced bandwidth is a measurable signature of light being dispersed by a fiber. The punch line: The less dispersion in the fiber, the less distortion in the final analog audio signal presented to our ears.
Low-Jitter Design
Unlike most optical cables, which use a single large fiber to transmit the audio signal and are highly vulnerable to distortion caused by their indirect light dispersion, AudioQuest’s Carbon Optical cable features 19 narrow-aperture fibers of the highest-purity synthetic, creating a cleaner, more direct signal path with significantly reduced dispersion and lower distortion.
Precision-Polished Fiber Ends
AudioQuest Carbon Optical cable uses Precision-Polished Fiber Ends. This non-metallic connection provides critical galvanic isolation to eliminate the transmission and pickup of induced radio-frequency noise. Music is presented with a satisfying combination of realistic detail and natural warmth.
The Next Evolution of Optical Cable Performance
With the Indulgence Series, AudioQuest illustrates an evolution of cable performance. Why the word 'indulgence'? When we set aside the time for audio/video entertainment in the home we are, after all, allowing ourselves a bit of well-earned personal indulgence. We allow ourselves time for emotional transportation via video and sound.
There are huge differences in the sound of optical cables. As part of AudioQuest's re-examination of optical cable design, specific attention was paid to maximizing the sonic performance of digital optical cables.
AudioQuest's Indulgence OptiLink series pushes optical sonic performance to new levels. While test equipment is excellent at tracking control errors or ensuring data pass through, no computer can compete with the human ear when it comes to perceiving the subtle but crucial audio errors and distortion that can reduce the enjoyment of your music and video files via optical digital interconnects.
