'Slippery,' Flexible, Great Sounding In-wall Cable
Sometimes pulling cable through a wall can be a real pain. AudioQuest's new SLiP DB series of in-wall speaker cables has been designed to make this task easier. While there is no perfectly slippery cable, the materials and shape used by AudioQuest for SLiP DB make them the most slippery cables possible.
AudioQuest SLiP DB 14/2 is a 14 awg cable with two Semi-Solid Concentric Packed Conductors that reduce harshness and confusion. Long-Grain Copper (LGC) has less grain junctions and lower distortion which preserves clarity and naturalness. SLiP 14/2's low-Inductance Spiral Geometry minimizes the sound going out-of-focus as length increases.
The EasySLiP Minimalist Outer Jacket is UL-Rated for in-wall use (CL3, FT4).
Money-Saving Bulk Pricing
SLiP DB 14/2 cable is ideal for home theater use, multi-room installations, and more. Our affordable per-foot, bulk-cable pricing allows you to buy exactly the amount of unterminated cable you need for your particular application. No more. No less. Terminating the cable yourself instead of buying lengths of terminated cable can save you even more.
"Finesse, Subtlety, Dynamic Heft, and Punch"
The four-conductor version of AudioQuest SLiP DB won a top rating of "Five Stars" and a "Product of the Year" award for 2012 from England's What Hi-fi? magazine. "If you're looking for a cable that does finesse and subtlety just as well as dynamic heft and punch, this is it."
"It's a Great Speaker Cable"
"SLiP 14/2 cable uses their Semi-Solid Concentric Packed long grain copper conductors in PVC jackets, and while AQ is known for their solid conductor cable, this provides a high performance, cost effective and flexible alternative to typical stranded cable." Notes Jeff Dorgay, TONEAudio magazine.
"Bottom line, it’s a great speaker cable for those new to the audiophile world, or anyone wanting to wring a little."
Semi-Solid Concentric Packed Conductors
Semi-Solid Concentric Packed Conductors are used in some of AudioQuest’s AC power and speaker cables as a cost-effective, flexible alternative to typical stranded conductors.
Semi-Solid Concentric Packed Conductors significantly reduce strand-interaction. They use fewer, larger strands that do not change position down the length of the cable. While solid conductors are the complete solution to strand distortion, Semi-Solid Concentric Packed Conductors avoid many of the distortion mechanisms of stranded conductors.
Directionality
Because all drawn metal is directional, all audio cables are directional. AudioQuest analog and digital audio cables are all controlled for RF-noise directionality. Please use the cable with the arrows pointing from the source to the receiver or other component.
The jacket is gray PVC with a red stripe on one side (indicating the positive), which helps you make the correct connection.
"Very Good Entry Level Bulk Speaker Cable"
"AudioQuest has come out with a very good entry level bulk speaker cable. The AudioQuest FLX/Slip speaker cable is a 14 gauge, 2 conductor cable that comes in a very flexible and attractive greyish-black jacket with a solid red stripe running down it," reports Budget Esoterica Review magazine, June 2013 supplement edition."
"The positive traits of this cable include, a very good sense of musicality and body, as well as very good elasticity."
