Thrill to Extreme AudioQuest Performance in an In-Wall Cable
SLiP XTRM 14/2 takes everything that makes AudioQuest in-wall cables so attractive to installers, including the super-slippery, easy-to-pull CL3/FT4-rated jacket with easy-to-read feet and meter markers. Then it adds extreme AudioQuest performance.
A carefully finessed combination of Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) and Long-Grain Copper (LGC) affords performance approaching that of the purer PSC, but at a much lower cost. In addition, True-Concentric Conductor Technology, a more sophisticated form of AudioQuest's Semi-Solid Concentric geometry, significantly improves clarity and resolution by further minimizing the distortion caused by strand interaction. <M/p>
The net result is simply the highest performing, easiest-to-install CL3/FT4-certified line of speaker cables in the business! It is rated for in-wall and direct-burial applications.
True Concentric Conductors
Compared to the Semi-Solid Concentric Conductors used in SLiP DB 14/2 cable, SLiP XTRM 14/2 boasts True Concentric Conductors, which further reduce strand-interaction for lower distortion and improved resolution.
While Semi-Solid Concentric conductors use fewer, larger strands that do not change position down the length of the cable, True-Concentric conductor technology pushes this concept even further by spiraling each successive layer of strands in the direction opposite to the one beneath it.
Because this arrangement places more contact pressure at the points of contact, rather than lines of contact, the overall strand interaction is meaningfully reduced. The net sonic result is lower distortion, improved resolution, and greatly reduced harshness and confusion.
Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) & Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors
SLiP XTRM 14/2 uses a carefully finessed combination of Long-Grain Copper (LGC) and extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries and definitively better performance. The astonishingly smooth and pure PSC further eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity.
Directionality
Because all drawn metal is directional, all audio cables are directional. AudioQuest analog and digital audio cables are all controlled for RF-noise directionality. Please use the cable with the arrows pointing from the source to the receiver or other component.
The jacket is gray PVC with a blue stripe on one side (indicating the positive), which helps you make the correct connection.
