A tribute to one of the great Renaissance men, the DaVinci MC v2 moving coil was the result of Clearaudio's developmental work on its version 2 series as it explored modern material science. Super neodymium was one special material Clearaudio used in the generator, creating a ring of eight magnets with dual 24-karat pure gold air-core coils inside.
A Significant Improvement
For the DaVinci v2.1 body, an aluminum-magnesium alloy with ceramic surface layer was chosen for its lightness, rigidity, and self-damping characteristics. Realizing Clearaudio's twelve-finger design, each finger with a different radius, with this advanced material, provides enhanced low level resolution via its resonance control.
The generator of the DaVinci v2.1 MC is mechanically, magnetically and electrically symmetrical, and it uses the Clearaudio Prime Line stylus with solid boron rod cantilever. The Prime Line stylus offers a significant improvement over the previous version DaVinci.

Twelve-Finger Cartridge Body
Cartridge body resonances, while tracking in the groove, are minimized through the twelve-finger design of the mounting plate, each finger with a different radius. This is the result of Clearaudio's constant research and development.
The cartridge body is made of ceramic coated aluminum. The generator construction is absolutely symmetrical: mechanically, magnetically and electrically. The moving coils in all v2 models use Clearaudio's proven 24 carat pure gold coils.
