Affordable, Detailed, and Highly Musical Cardas Cable
Warm and forgiving, but still detailed and highly musical, Cardas Audio's Crosslink Interconnect is designed for entry-level to mid-level hi-fi and home theater applications. It is available with RCA or XLR termination.
Crosslink is one of Cardas' least expensive cables, but you'd never know if from its sound. The low price seems downright inexplicable! Crosslink is very flexible and lightweight, making it the perfect cable for tight spaces.
"You’d Expect to Pay a Lot More"
"I've listened to a lot of systems, granted the bulk of them have been under show or store conditions," observes Dave Duvall in his review for soundstagenetwork.com. "But after having these cables in my system for several months now, I feel a sense of satisfaction that I've only heard from a handful of other systems - many being much more expensive."
"The sound is pure Cardas. Ever so slightly on the warm side of neutral, but maintaining a great sense of tone," reports Jeff Dorgay at tonepublications.com.
"Crosslink interconnects come terminated with RCA or XLR plugs and they are assembled with care by the same people that make their Clear cables. While these are very inexpensive cables… when you see the quality of the connectors and finish, you’d expect to pay a lot more."
99.99% Pure Oxygen-Free Copper Conductors
The conductors consist of Cardas Grade 2, 99.99% pure oxygen-free copper with SPN clear coat (Litz), gauge sizes scaled to Golden Ratio proportions, and crossfield layer geometry, insulated in a polyurethane jacket.
The cable geometry is twisted pair with natural cotton filler bound with FEP tape wrap. A tin-plated copper spiral shield to fight RFI and EMI interference and a PVC outer jacket complete the build.
The conductors measure 2 x 20.5 AWG and the outside diameter is 0.303" (7.69mm). Termination is with Cardas GRCM RCAs or Cardas CE XLRs.
Constant Q Meets Golden Section
The Constant "Q" design of Golden Presence Interconnect arranges different diameter conductors in ascending order of strand cross-section from the center toward the cable outer circumference. Conductors are sized according to Cardas' proprietary Golden Section Stranding, which earned the company an award for "The Most Significant Contribution of the Advancement of High End Audio in Cable and Accessory Design" from the Academy for the Advancement of High End Audio.
In real world terms, the ground-breaking design reduces cable resonance produced by fluctuating current flow for a clearer, more in-focus sonic signature.
