Inexplicably Inexpensive and "Very Smooth"
Crosslink is one of Cardas' least expensive cables, but you'd never know if from its sound. The low price seems downright inexplicable! Crosslink is CL 2 rated, making it great for home theater, in-wall, automotive and small home audio systems.
Crosslink offers well-balanced sound with great detail. It's perfect for mid to entry level two-channel and multi-channel systems and can be used in single-wire or bi-wire setups. It's printed with CL2 rating for in-wall use.
Crosslink has flame retardant EEA and cotton for the dielectric, with a PVC jacket, making it CL 2 rated.
"More Pleasing and Natural Sounding"
"The Crosslink is a very smooth, natural sounding cable," reports Dave Duvall, soundstagenetwork.com. "Sibilance was also less prominent with the Crosslink. In particular, vocals were more pleasing and natural sounding.
"'Spanish Harlem,' by Rebecca Pigeon was like I had never heard it before. The beauty of her voice came through with the Crosslink with less of an edge.... The pluck of the string bass was rounder and I could now hear the resonance of the wood body of the instrument."
"One of the Best Price-to-Performance Ratios"
"The Crosslink is a kind of an entry-level cable for Cardas and it also represents one of the best price-to-performance ratios in the company's portfolio," observes MJ, audiodrom.net.
"There are not many such good sounding cables out there at the same price point. On top of that, the Crosslink is very versatile."
Constant Q Meets Golden Section
The Constant "Q" design of Golden Presence Interconnect arranges different diameter conductors in ascending order of strand cross-section from the center toward the cable outer circumference.
Conductors are sized according to Cardas' proprietary Golden Section Stranding, which earned the company an award for "The Most Significant Contribution of the Advancement of High End Audio in Cable and Accessory Design" from the Academy for the Advancement of High End Audio.
In real world terms, the ground-breaking design reduces cable resonance produced by fluctuating current flow for a clearer, more in-focus sonic signature.
Advanced Materials and Geometry
The conductors have an air-tube core and use Cardas grade 1 oxygen free copper. Gauge sizes are scaled to Golden Ratio proportions with cross-field layer geometry, insulated in a poly jacket. The Star-Quad 4 conductors have a natural cotton filler bound together in FEP tape. The outer jacket is PVC.
Standard terminations are with Cardas GRS spades or CABE bananas.
